Carabao Cup 24/25

Think it'd mean a hell of a lot to Ange. He bit back last night when the interviewer mentioned the "second season trophy" comment. It's clearly hurt him how people have misconstrued and misused that against him.

It'd be wonderful for football in general and to ram down the throats of the press and opposition fans if he does win a trophy this year.
I agree - his second season comments have been hugely distorted over the weeks. BBC Sport are today referencing Ange’s “Second season promise of a trophy” Promise! All he said was he’s won one in each of his second seasons, stated a fact, nothing more.
He’s an experienced guy though, should have known that comments get bent out of shape.

It was naive but I recall seeing the full interview and the journo said something like "so you're saying you always win something in your second season?"

And Ange said, "Yes. It's a statement of fact. If I don't do it this season then I won't be able to say it in the future".

It really f**king annoys me to see it taken out of context like this. That's the world we live in though - the soundbite is absorbed and distorted in prejudice rather than the substance of the point made being understood.

I'd give my left nut for him to win this season just to ram it down people's throats (and for Spurs' benefit obviously).
