Carabao Cup 24/25

If we some how make it through, I feel it's a season we could do without meeting (and potentially losing) to the Goons in a final.

Geordies not there yet though.
Tho 'castle are better than us with a very strong defense (with botman back) we have more of a chance against them if we make it to the final, which of course is unlikely.

I always liked Howe but at Bournemouth, I questioned his ability to organise a defence. I know he had less resources but he had some decent defenders when he was there and they were great going forward but very ropey at the back.

fudge me has he learned. They were magnificent tonight in terms of their shape and the players’ commitment to the game plan.

He’s a brilliant coach.

Agree or disagree but I think Dan Burn is better than any of our defenders. I don't like him but I'd take him over any of ours. I'll get shot down but he'd walk in to our team right now of course, but I think he'd start over Romero for sure.

It's not that VDV won't get better with age and time but I think currently Burn is better.

he was rejected as small beer by many of our fans but he's done wonders up there. So well organised tactically, turned players like Joelinton around and even raised the level of Championship level guys like Murphy.

Burn defending on the halfway line in an Ange defensive setup would be hilarious. He wouldn't finish a single game and would be banned half the time. Obviously, wearing our colours he wouldn't get away with a thing.

South coast teams once again proving to be good proving grounds for upcoming PL managers.

I agree it comes across as disrespectful, but it does make a kind of sense. A trophy win for Newcаstle this season, when they've been looking a credible force on the pitch and building momentum towards the European places in the league, when there's already a general feeling of optimism about their direction of travel, particularly after such a long time in their history, would be an affirmation that they might go on to even bigger and better things. On the other hand, Spurs' (now no-so) recent history with silverware has been one of consolation prizes won in otherwise unremarkable, mid-table seasons, and of successes that we demonstrably failed to build on. We'd have seen the movie before.
