Best ever Tottenham debuts?

For me "debut" means "first start" really i.e. loads of kids get their first 3 minutes at the end of some dead rubber game, but that to me is not a "debut" that is just farting about and chasing around and clattering into people.

Without checking if these are actually ""debuts"" I think of Tanganga vs Liverpool.

And also Pascal Chimbonda, he was flipping incredible up and down the right wing, completely shutting down their left winger and nutmegging 18 players in a row.

Eric Dier. Totally unknown when he arrived, other than that he was a CB. Then Poch plays him at right back, and far into stoppage time at Boleyn Ground, he's suddenly our most forward player, and get played through by Harry Kane, one on one with the GK, rounds the GK and slots it into the net.

Dint he start at CB and Naughton got a red card?

It's a very fair point, but what about someone who comes off the bench and scores on debut? Don't think you can just pick and choose.

I think you can differentiate that between a new signing and a youth team player as well.

Rafa VdV hit the ground running, to put it mildly. Can’t remember his exact debut, but he just ripped it up from day one. What a player. One of very very few that actually delivered on the hype!

His debut was Werder Bremen away a 3-3 draw he played an unreal cross to Crouch for our 2nd.

I think Greaves was the best debutant ever. He scored on debut for every team he played for.
His first game in Spurs shirt was away at Plymouth Argyle in a reserve game and he scored in front of over 12,000 spectators, not bad for an afternoon midweek game in December.

thanks - i've never seen that before
that unmistakable hoddle body shape for the strike !
Glenn Hoddle. He doesn't get a mention until he scores, but what a goal for a 17 year old to score on his full debut:
