I was thinking more of Steps...
Or revisit their debut in a bossa nova style

I think we need a different mod to oversee this thread.
What did you think you were getting when you bought an album by a band called 'Rage Against the Machine'? Surely there's a pretty big hint in the title as to what type of music it'll be?
You know that Pavement pre-date Beck
I did not know that....so they were the originators of that sing-out-of-tune style were they? Assume they got fed up of making that 'sound' eventually....or was it that their 12 fans stopped buying and moved on to Taylor Hicks?
Some really great songs, but the albums he released in the 90's where not the best. Varying quality imo.Where's the rich body of music Bowie produced in the 90s?
I was banned from playing RATM in a lot of clubs, because people went crazy and basically destroyed the inventory. You're probably right
But, I nominated simply red purely as a commercial option
And I stand by my decision on ratm. I returned the album because it made me angry. I like music to make me happy, not angry
All subjective though.
I'm sure pavement are great really. Shame they ran out of material just about the same time as beck did....
If RATM doesn't win I will throw the biggest hissy fit...
Which would be apt because the album sounds a lot like a giant hissy fit
I retract my earlier statement about you. brick thread, lock it up.
Great voice on the singer, not altogether good music. Pretty good as an acoustic act.Oooh, are Skunk Anansie worthy? They just came on the radio. What was the second album called again, Stoosh, that was it. Probably doesn't hold up to a lot of the classics on the list...
