Part of why "succession planning" is so difficult with goalkeepers. You need a backup, if you sign a young talent and loan them out you need another backup. Then you're down to hoping a loan works out. Then the timing has to fit (time to replace the old guy with the development of the new guy).
better off just buying proven keepers imo
 
I'm amazed any young PL understudy keeper does well, they don't get enough game time.
Goalkeeper is a position you need to be playing weekly in challenging games all the training in the world does not simulate real match play. Keepers learn from their mistakes if you're not making any you naturally brilliant.
He's played 10 games in 15 months, that's seriously undercooked for a young keeper.
Don't know what's worse,

1) our transfer committee signing Vicario instead of Raya
2) our transfer committee signing a kid who'd played just 19 games for Prague as emergency cover
3) Kinsky's agent choosing a no doubt hefty commission over his client's career prospects

Can't our backup GK play PL2 games? Is there an age limit?
