Sacking him mid season is worse for us long term than sacking him in the summer. There are fewer options available and we might have unsuited or unwanted signings.

If we don't fire him in the summer then we need to commit to him getting the whole season again, pretty much no matter the results because it's otherwise going to be another wasted season. With a other new man having to get to grips with the existing squad without the possibility of reinforcements.
Mid season yes Id agree - but first couple of months I'd say not necessarily. Redknapp took over after 8 games, Conte took over after a couple of months and both first seasons with them were good. If results were as they have been in the league for the first month or two then he has been given more than enough opportunity and there is still enough of the season left to both attract another manager and for them to have enough time to save the season.

And the whole point of our recruitment for players and manager is that the manager is aligned with the players available and we have a mostly young, talented hungry bunch which most managers would be happy to work with....

Still can't gain enough perspective to give a solid opinion on Ange's future. Too much emotion and elation at the moment. I know what my head says but my heart has priority at the moment.

Kind of like the game the other day. It was absolute dogbrick but I've seldom been as engrossed in 90 minutes of football.

It's great what this sport and this club does to you. Well sometimes it is and those times more than make up for all the heartache and suffering.

Which is exactly how it should be
We need to enjoy this moment first and foremost

Humans need to be tribal, most of the time in the modern world "us vs. them" is a bad thing, it football we get to be that, and our tribe means everything ..

I will leave that for others to debate and decide now. I will ride the magic carpet of euphoria this summer and I have just booked Udine.

I was the same straight after the game, but after a day or so I'm thankful to him but we can't base it on 5 games - 1/4, semi / final

Consider the back end of last season and before we gave up on the league this season, it still wasn't good enough.

He's also made comments about him not being able to manage 2 games a week, it's going to be tougher next season

If the club don't believe he is the right man , wed shouldn't really change anything

My guess he goes on Monday

Having a transfer department/structure in place should hopefully mitigate some of that - changing managers mid season is never ideal but this is a unique situation, the optics will be bad sacking a trophy winning manager so soon after waiting so long for one and will create a toxic atmosphere at the first sign of a bad patch - i think we're really stuck between a rock and a hard place here

I was resigned to him leaving regardless of the final. I will accept whatever Levy chooses to do, I trust him to take the emotion out of the decision and he is close enough to everything to know what is the right thing to do.

But if Ange does get given his marching orders whilst I will understand the decision, there will definitely be part of me that feel it is wrong the guy who bought us a major trophy for the first time in years isn't at least given an opportunity to show he can build something greater. The way he speaks has always been geared to the longer term, us fans might not see it yet but I can't help but wonder....

There is an element of that, but look at the previous 2 guys that won us a trophy, Graham and Ramos

Would you have kept them longer than we did?

Graham hell no :D

I accept the point, but each case is different and for me at least winning the EL is a different thing to the League cup. And I don't think we would be anywhere near as bad in the league next season, but like I say I will be accepting whatever the fate is and won't argue. If we have a clear/better option lined up then great, but I won't be able to shake the feeling of being a little sad/underwhelmed if we get rid and in comes a Silva/Frank type but will get behind it all the same. I don't think there is a right/wrong answer at this stage, just hope Levy knows best....

I guess the key point is what the club believes not as bad looks like under Ange

If we want to achieve anything in the league/CL (getting to the knock out would be a success)

Just one question the board will be considering is that we need to work out a system that works without VDV/Romero we can't play them every game with their injury records.

Do the club believe he can adjust to a plan to win PL/CL games without those two?

If not it's going to be much the same results wise.

Are there direct flights?

I won't get a ticket with my points, but keen to do a Spurs foreign away trip - being a teacher it's not usually an option. This one is in the summer holidays and I'd be tempted to go just to be aroud it all.

In fairness you're not the only person engaging in behaviors such as this which are doubtless unhelpful LOL...I'll tag myself as 'guilty' too!!!
I actually felt happy for Ange, seeing him get a good reception from the fans and be there with his family. For me its the perfect opportunity for him to walk away with his "i always win a trophy in my second season, mate" record in tact, something to sell to keep his career on track, while for us to try and find a coach that strikes a bit more of a balance between attacking football and solidity at the back and whose coaching methods carry reduced injury risk.

It’s not just losing them though
We have played every game with players missing and experienced players not really turning up.. until it counted
We need that experience and that quality with 3/4 new players

Not had a look but people on twitter are complaining about the lack of options. You would use the Venice route I think, is that Treviso or Venezia?

Lack of options
Shock horror
It will be another white invasion and Udine won’t know what’s hit it

Leave Monday

London - Paris: Stop for a drink and a mooch - Stuttgart where I might overnight - Augsburg and the midnight train to Udine which takes 7 hours, so arrive in the beautiful Italian summer sun.

Less than £200 less the stopping and expenses but you can do it in a 16 hour hit which on the train with Beers and a few sleeps is a nice way to do it IMO

Seemed like they'd had more of a sniff when van de Ven, cleared the ball amazingly off the line? I couldn't see us winning if it had got to 1-1, our counter attacking died well before.that point as all the players were running on empty. At best it would have gone to penalties - do you think, with the players we had on the pitch, we would have won a shootout? the spectacular goal line clearance won us that game, but that's how close we were to losing.
That ‘chance’ came from a complete fudge up by Vicario, spilling an absolutely routine catch. Even then, I always thought VDV was favourite to clear it.
