Not changed my decision. United were a shambles. And yet, our defensive frailties were still there and I'd say if that game is replayed multiple times, it ends as a fairly comfortable United win 3 or 4 times out of 5. Bruno free header in middle of the goal, yes VDV clearance incredible but as McCoist said, Hojlund shouldn't have given him the chance. Should have buried it. It was an extremely extremely poor game in the cold light of day. And I still go back to the point that the standard of our football and the individual performances of most our players are on a downward trajectory. Who is improving under him? Where are we actually going football wise?

I'm glad we won a trophy but there's so much unnecessary bullsh*t around this guy. Even Brennan Johnson said it was a drop the mic moment after all the criticism he'd received. The criticism is deserved. 17th is absolutely unacceptable. It's disgusting. And there isn't any sign of improvement in the way we play. 2 years in and taking the euphoria aside we really struggled to string 2 passes together at times and create much. Our goal summed up the game.

While I may agree with the end conclusion, I think you misread the game completely.

United were never going to win that game, and if we had any of Deki/Maddison/Bergvall available, our transition game would have been better and we probably would have scored another 1 or 2.

We did to United what Liverpool did to us in the CL final, get the goal, sit back and watch you huff and puff, you really think Romero & VDV were worried about Hojlund and Maguire as strikers?

His league tactics have been awful, but we got 3 clean sheets in the final 4 EL games, and that's why Frankfurt/Glimt/United never really had a sniff

Were you able to enjoy the game amidst such analysis?
But yes. I do agree that there is an awful, awful lot of 'unecessary bullsh*t' around 'this guy'...

changed my mind, heart over head... but how can we sack him now??
Me too. Been Ange out for months snd never expected us to win a cup. But hes won us the biggest cup comp we were in.
He deserves to carry on.
Id expect him to be manager next season with a huge eye on our league form from above. If we are in the bottom 6 after 10 games though he will be gone i reckon.

I mean did you enjoy the game? It was pretty torturous to watch. I thought we were playing with fire 2nd half too. Reminded me of watching Gareth Southgate England sitting back on a 1-0 against poor teams....

But let's be honest the quality of those teams are very questionable. And even v. United those 2 chances they DID have were far better than we managed to create v Liverpool. On another day, we lose that final because of them and the narrative would then turn to how bad the actual footballing performance was....

I'd take Grealish, think being in a less robotic system and having more licence to roam and affect games would bring his hunger back. 29 isn't washed up territory
