I have no more faith than you that they will pick a suitable manager but I think the chances of that lessen dramatically if we have to do it mid season. Like you said I don't believe we are a particularly attractive option for an ambitious coach and picking up next season after another poor start just makes the job even less enticing. At least if we were to win the EL a new manager has the prospect of the CL to excite them and plan for.The best manager we have brought in since Pochettino came in mid season. I've not got any confidence in this board to appoint a decent manager in the summer. We could've had Slot instead of Ange but wouldn't pay the release fee. We could've had Conte instead of Nuno that summer but wouldn't promise him the transfer funds (only for the promises to magically appear mid-season when the 'ENIC/Levy out' chants were getting louder and louder in the stadium and Nuno was sacked). If Ange goes in the summer then I suspect we'll spend £10m paying off Ange thus reducing our transfer budget and then take a manager who is cheap to obtain.
I agree with this. You’re entitled to your view. And I actually agree with your core point 100%. But there is no need to call the guy “a piece of brick”. It’s unnecessary. He’s landed in a job that, IMO, he doesn’t have the ability to do well. He hasn’t killed anyone. Dunno why people can’t articulate their point without resorting to nasty insults. Doesn’t reflect well on anyone.
Yep, but there are people on this forum who still believe he is the man for us.
Agree with all of that except Ange getting next season - unless there is a very clear plan on how to improve PL performance. And that has to be more than the EL results - sad as it is, the EL performances are PL mid table.Saying that "I honestly think people want to lose Wednesday" because they have a view that the manager isn't the right fit long term is properly funny.
Ange performance has been an abomination bar the EL and he has to win it or its even worse than that , if he wins it fair fcking play, he also likely gets next season. But what he doesn't get is the deckchair moment of dining out on it at the expense of next years league. If the form reads L-D-L after free he can hit the skids and no one can complain IMO
The idea we gave up the league for the EL is fanciful in itself, that would have had to be the case about 5 games in and most sane people know it wasn't.
Lets win the EL, after the disaster of a season, we need to first and foremost

He killed my spirit.
The fat Cnut. Hope he chokes on his arrogance.
Where I disagree is that he didn't get a shot at winning the EL because he's a better manager than any of those who came before him, but simply because he was allowed to completely throw away the league.
