The EL is better for having CL qualification as an added bonus (although I do also like the tradition of a cup holder defending their trophy the following year)
...so if we are the ones to benefit this season, so be it ...I need TP for my bunghole next year.

I think it deserves a CL place to be fair. We had to play 38 games last season to get into EL and we will have to play 15 games this season to win it. We have to be the best team out of 36 competing teams.

Who cares what Arsenal fans think. If the CL was really a Champions Leagur then they wouldn't have competed in it since 2004.

End of the day I'd rather get into the CL via the glory of wining a trophy over finishing 4th every single time.

Try telling an opposition fan that taunts you for us not winning anything in nearly 2 decades that ' yeh but we finished in the top 4 and qualified for the CL for a few yeara' .
Don't you think the fact that (for a large chunk of our recent history) we've been finishing above most other teams is why they target us for that? Those top 4 finishes are what make us a valid target.

Nobody takes the tinkle out of Southampton or Morecambe for not winning stuff.

We are not beating bilbao in the final I’m just saying look at their form … lost the least games in la liga
Obviously just my opinion but I'd rather chance my arm playing Bilbao. Man U have massive pedigree, which is important - no matter how brick they are they still have a habit of winning stuff and know how to get it done in finals. Obviously Bilbao have too, but have never done it in Europe. Sure there's a first time for everything, but if Man U were to get to the final they would have yet again done so by being jammy in some way and just know how to win regardless of how rubbish they are.

I would chance my arm and prefer Bilbao, but for the love of GHod let's not get ahead of ourselves(myself included):D....

His adaptability last night makes it worse for me. We needed a win to save his career and he was able to let go of his idealism for once. Too late. It has given us, as fans, one of the worst seasons in years and years. Unforgivable in my view. And I've been pretty benevolent to Ange in the past.
It's a bit weird isn't it?

He did it last night and against City last year, got the full backs to play more traditionally and the CM to sit more.

Got through and that's all that matters

I doubt any European neutral would want the English clubs in the final, let alone 2 of them for another final borefest.
