Bingo, this is the big item and in hindsight it's logical

- At slightly lower levels, teams/players aren't as clinical, at the very top level, high quality chances are punished.
- Two other issues for me, system isn't designed to get best out of skill difference between us and lower level opposition (i.e. against a Leicester, Ipswich, etc. you don't need a magic system, you have better players, the system should allow those better players to make the difference, not rely on crazy intensity or outrun tactics). Second is the system doesn't know how to defend, 2nd half of season there have been some concessions (FB's staying back, 2 more defensive players in middle, not as aggressive a press), but being less attacking doesn't automatically mean you are a better defensive team, it's still too easy to play against us.

Results say the same thing time and time again, Ange isn't the answer
I've been saying it since the start - even when we were doing well.

We are proper bottom table quality now. If we don't get Europe and start to sell key players next season, I will not forgive ange for setting us back.

He clashed with part of the ownership core and would not back down/shut up/be a puppet. He did some great work there. If he'd stayed they'd have absolutely pushed for the title this season. We should be grateful!
I will honestly be grateful for what Poch did for the club, but unlike so many supporters I won't forget how poor we were for the final year of his tenure. Believe me guys, he is not the answer to our problems. That said, any Disney character would be better than what we have at present

I am not one who believes he is the answer.

You can talk about the form the last 4 months of the 2018/19 season and the first two of the next. And when you do, as ever, context is everything.

If I met conte right now I would shake his hand for telling the truth. No ifs or buts about it.

Except he didn't. He wanted to get back to Italy and took the cowards way out, blowing up after an away draw (was it at Southampton) where the ref gifted them a goal. He was probably clever in not giving Levy explicit grounds for a P45, but his rant was pathetic and only happened because he was an emotional wreck. The guy was a snake.

Would have him over Ange any day of the week though

I wish the clam had stuck with the truth he knew when he initially turned the job down, or at the very least had the decency to tell the truth and quit the first time the club did something he didn't want (Djed Spence).

Nah it was quite refreshing to hear him hang the board out to dry.

...once he'd had enough of taking our money. He never wanted to be here. He came for the money. His reputation was always that he spoke his truth quickly and was unafraid to up and walk. Well that certainly was not the case with us. The way he engineered his eventual departure was shocking.

Yeah. I don't actually have any time for coaches attacking the board publically. Ange, Conte, they knew what they were getting into. Everyone knows how we operate. Everyone knows we make "club" youth signings for the future. Everyone knows the club haggled every last detail in deals. Everyone knows our financial spending power. Everyone knows how Levy operates. He's been there for 25 years. When the faux-shock and anger at how the club operates comes out, it's generally when results go south and it's to deflect from their own failings. They were all happy to take the clubs money and tell the club they could be successful in the context of the club's operating model. That's not to detract from failures above them, it's just don't give me "oh I'm so angry that they signed Djed Spence". Mate, who cares. Don't play him then. We also spent £45m on Pedro Porro for you, so shut your cake hole and get on with it. Or just leave.

This was a point being made before

Conte and Jose were accused of being chequebook managers but Ange given somewhat a free pass for in essence wanting the exact same thing. People can't claim the board have done him dirty when he had a wealth of prior evidence on what he'd get resources wise. I'd argue he's benefited more than previous managers.

The next guy (whenever that is) needs to be happy with being able to actually manage and make the whole more than the sum of the parts. We should be looking at pragmatic managers (which isn't the same as boring or defensive) who are happy to mould themselves around what they get given then request a couple of handpicked additions. A manager that will have a philosophy but then adapt that to the ability of the players and the squad, rather than playing his ideal way as that's just what he does.

Do you honestly believe of he was backed the way he needed he would be engineering for a move away with no other clubs at the time after him?
