After yet another bad performance, is there ANYONE who is seeing a semblance of coaching quality coming through at all that would be worth persisting with and backing?
As others have said, we seem to have gotten progressively worse overall from a gameplay POV (never mind points-wise) as every set of games goes on.
Of course, every coach, team etc goes through peaks and troughs but can anyone compare where things are in Ange's tenure nearly a season and half in, with any of our previous coaches and give any hope that things can or will improve?
Injuries, of course don't help, but in terms of how we play that can no longer be an excuse because we've been getting worse with or without or 'best players' in the starting line-up.

Can ANYONE give some kind of discourse to say why Ange will or should keep his job (apart from "we can't go through the new manager cycle again" etc etc)?
Anything tactical that shows we are or will go in the right direction?
Anything??

What do you expect to have changed in people's opinions after one match? Are we going to get a similar post after every game?

I'm not expecting real improvement in performances as long as we have this many injuries and this level of fatigue in the squad with games coming quick over time.

What we have seen in the past that Ange football can be brilliant. And I think with a squad that's given time to develop further (particularly our youngest players) and added to in transfer windows I think Ange can make us very good again. And be more consistent with a better squad that can also then deal with similar injury situations in the future.

I think the current struggles are down to injuries and fatigue and we'd be struggling under most managers at this stage of a process with this number of injuries and this number of games.

I like that he's still trying to do his thing. Instill his way of playing and his attitude on this fairly young squad even when facing rather significant adversity. I think we can come through that adversity a better team as a result of that. I think good learning and development can happen now. But I'm not expecting that to lead to better performances in the coming weeks.

I thought yesterday was a bit more significant than others...
Anyway, there are some that post "where are the Ange moaners" whenever we win a game, so at the very least i'm bringing some balance (but actually want to hear some more views on where we are)

I think that we may learn a little about the current player-manager relationship from his next press conference (which I assume is tomorrow?). I’d be amazed if he isn’t asked about Werner and his responses to such questions should tell a tale… Personally I’d like him to show a little contrition and explain that he’s sat down with TW and talked things through etc etc. If he doubles down then I think there’s a very real chance that he has lost (or is losing) and is ‘digging in’.

Is TW the answer to all our problems? Of course he isn’t.

Is he the only player massively underperforming? Of course he isn’t.

Do we need him at the current time? Of course we do.

Ange needs to ensure that TW is integrated, motivated and ready to play for us.

TBF the moaners all return very quickly and are loving it now

I didn’t see last night’s game but on the face of it 1-1 v Rangers on a Thursday night at Ibrox is not the worst result. So I’m a bit surprised at the level of negativity here. I guess those who’ve given up on Ange just want to cut to the chase and get it over with.
I'm not an Ange outer but yesterday was just really poor again. Ranger always looked more likely, there was a cut and thrust to their play that was just totally absent of ours. We couldn't really get a grasp of the game and so if say the complaints are mainly about the performance rather than the result. The result wasn't bad, the performance was quite brick.

Been hard to see a short term turnaround for a while now.

I still think we can come out the other side of this a stronger and better team. Not saying that will happen, but I can see it.

Question for me is if Ange can get through this period to even get the chance to see if we'd come out stronger or not.

Not sure how close he is to actually get sacked. It seems like "the stumble stage" as you say, but how close is he actually. Doesn't seem like he's lost the players. Still a good chunk of the fan base supporting him it seems.

W/W/L/L I think he survives. But if it's L/L/L/L or D/L/L/L I'm less certain.

If we lose badly to Southampton he's gone IMO. 8 points off bottom 3, with one of if not the worst forms in the league about to go into x2 further games in Pool and Forest where points returns likely to be meagre before playing another bottom 3 team in what would by then be a 6 pointer (and Ange has never managed to sustain the kind of consistency even at top form that would lift you comfortably out of that hole). The club would not tolerate that level of risk.

Quite frankly, it was a horrible performance, hence the negativity. The result was ok but if I were a Rangers fan, I'd be very disappointed.

Kulusevski, Sarr and Solanke (Forster had a good game too, I thought) performed to an acceptable level and that was enough to score a goal but even then, Rangers went massively close again.

I think, at this stage, people's mind are set so one result/performance won't move the needle. Only an unbeaten/winless streak would probably make a difference.

One thing I'm particularly disappointed with and that I feel gets rarely mentioned is the fact that Postecoglou - despite what had been promised - doesn't really play the younger players. Gray is the only one who regularly gets some game time but Bergvall only gets a few minutes here and there (when he should at least be playing 10+ minutes every week with 5 substitutions), Lankshear is out too. He seemed to have a little more faith in Moore but considering the situation we are in and his reputation, I expected to see a lot more of our younger players.

That's a bit harsh i think, given the direction of travel (in terms of how we are actually playing in games) goes back about a year now....not sure "loving it" is fair either.

But...i do want to see some argue for Ange's corner more than ever now, and not in a way talking about the background noise of Levy/ENIC (that can come later). Just about Ange and his tactics etc alone...

It was essentially more of the same as we've seen in recent weeks. Good moments, some better spells. But overall not enough at all and not really looking in control.

Btw @Bedfordspurs your new profile pic is a little disconcerting...it's a bit too clean cut.

Apart from looking like one of those comedians in that BBC game show (i am assuming it's you and not him in the picture) i preferred the old lop-sided one; it fitted in perfectly with your grammar and was similarly comfortingly random..

Sigh

Ange said Bergvall would have started if not for an illness.

I agree though that I'd like more trust to be shown in our younger players. Just to give the more experienced players more of a rest of nothing else.

He has said before he doesn't want to throw youngsters in because there's a lack of options, but play them when he thinks the circumstances are such that they can do well or words to that effect. I think he's mostly just sticking by that kind of principle.

I, for one, love it and will be keeping an eye out for him at The Lane on the back of the change!

His treatment of Spence has been odd too. He's not in the same category as Bergvall etc, he's got good first team experience and has given a good account of himself when he's played but seems to be intent on running Porro into the ground form and fitness wise right now....
