What possible reason would there be for that to happen this time around though? We all know the stadium had it's say on our spending previously - that's not a concern now though so why would you think we'd hold back if we got ourselves in that position again?

But seriously, our transfer policy is one now focused on talented young players which I'm happy with. But with that is going to come massive inconsistency whilst they are developing so I don't see the point of sacking Ange, the same problems will persist with whoever the next manager is except maybe we will be tighter in defence but then score less with the bang average attackers we have and then fans will whinge about the boring football and the cycle will go on and on.....
Gray is far more equipped to play CB for the first team. The difference between first team PL football and age group football is huge. I don’t think Dorrington would yet start in division 1. He has potential but still a very long way to go.

But they have to be ready, most fans just think oh he looks good he must be ready to play PL football. See Bergvall, everyone raving about him pre season and complaining why Ange didn't play him yet when he did eventually play him first game he was awful.I would be happy taking that position re the focus on younger players and developing if I actually saw some evidence of there being some developing of youngsters taking place

It's not 25 years though, it's the years within those 25 that we came close which just so happened to fall around the time that the stadium development was beginning & ongoing.

Fair point mate. I am usually on the side of giving the manager time when results are not necessarily great but it’s clear progress is being made. But I think Ange has had 18 months to implement his system with a fairly consistent set of players and we do not appear to be going in the right direction. I like the bloke, but don’t think he is the long term option for us. Plus, worryingly for me his tactics appear to be driving the team into the ground with no apparent upside in terms of results.
