He gives supporters ammunition to have a pop at him. It’s a cheap shot but some of the drivel he has been coming out with , as with any manager on the brink, is odd, arrogant, delusional and fans will vent in any fashion they can.

It’s clear from his pressers what the mood must be in his camp and in the dressing room.

If he wins the EL, the question is simple:
How are you going to ensure we don't lose 18+ games next season.

He might get ten games of next season to show this season was a combination of injuries, a blip and a new era teething problems.
That said, I think his demeanor is that he's leaving - possibly of his own accord with an EL win (and then piggy backing off the coattails of any future success we have)

That's what I mean, I didnt know if I liked it or not. Is he at the end of his tenure and he knows it, so he is just playing along now and saying what he's always thought? He was having a pop at the press there and saying they want Spurs to fail and dont let them improve. But a lot of the problem about us not improving is him. He has to take the blame for the majority of it, albeit the injuries, but whos to say we would have won any of those games with those players back anyway? The tactics would have been the same and we would have probably been a goal down under 2 mins in the same games.

For me, he looks sad, fed up and towards the end of his tenure, a bit like a lot of the managers we have seen at the end of their Spurs managerial career.

Give it to him though he hasnt completely downed tools and had a pop at the Spurs heirarchy, he is deflecting the blame from Spurs, players him.

It does seem, Steff, with respect, that your posts are pushing the guy as some sort of victim in all this rather than the orchestrator. He's had 2 massive bits of luck, 1) the teams below us are so poor that we have not been sucked into a proper relegation fight. 2) that the board have stuck with him despite his record when other managers have been dispensed with far sooner.

I’d love to think it’s midfield protection that’s missing but that wouldn’t caveat for the mistakes they are making. These aren’t high pressure mistakes imo. They are sheer incompetence/ignorance of how to do the most basics things

Forget the fans, I only worried about our new manager not taking Dier seriously when we weren't well stocked with centre halves. He treated our long term stalwart terribly and it was an early indicator on Ange's abilities. To leave Dier in no mans land with the injuries we had was poor management knowing what a model pro Eric is. Ange made his own luck on this one, especially his relegation form on set piece defending.

By the way, this isn't me saying Dier is world class. He's not, but Ange's job is to work with the resources he is given. He didn't.

They've been playing together recently and both look completely hopeless together. Unsure why Danso who looked so promising has been dropped in favour of Romero and not reinstated following pathetic mistake after pathetic mistake by Romero....

It's definitely a concern about the form of Romero and VDV. That can change in a single game though.

We exposed them as they couldnt work out how to eat the high line. In the end our numbers went against us but we still had great chances to get a result. That game was not a turning point

We ended up with 9 men because they constantly exposed us forcing us into desperate lunges and mistakes that ended up in the red cards. Not to mention the injuries suffered in that match for the same reason.

Yeah we exposed them as they couldn't work out how to breach our high line to score more than 4 goals.

Definitely wasn't a turning point either, you're right. We only failed to win the next 4 games taking 1 point in the process and winning only 12 more games over the course of the rest of the season (losing 11)....

You said it was that game when we were found out … not that it was a turning point. Very different things
And I was talking tactically

They really didn’t expose us. They got a fortunate red card (which weirdly wouldn’t be given now how they ref) and we lost out other CB and Maddison to injury quickly after
They were shocking in reality to struggle against 9 men and a make shift defence

We exposed ourselves.

We had a lead and a player deficit yet were still playing a high line.

It was idiocy.

I was responding to your use of the word "turning point". So we lost 4-1 at home to a shocking side? Sounds about right....
