So going back to last week when you blabbed on here about trump not saying anything wrong, in the lead up to the mob siege of Congress which cost innocent lives. With hindsight would you like to retract those posts and acknowledge that you made a class A taco of yourself?

Err, it's a tad more complicated than that.

Facebook and twitter are platforms which allow content as long as they don't violate section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, the one that it appears most politicians would like to amend/get rid of. It actually protects social media companies from liability/responsibility for their content and also their content-hosting choices, recognizing that holding these companies responsible for every bit of content they host is a near-impossible action.

If you can name me several examples where Facebook and Twitter have chosen to cancel content that does not violate hate-speak, illegal activity or the propagation of lies with regards to political situations, then I'm all eyes.

That does not answer my question. What is "class" in your world? Let me give you a clue as I think you're struggling. Class and money are not necessarily bedfellows (in fact, in key experience, they are very often in opposite rooms)...

I have come to the conclusion that Scara does not believe half the crap he spouts on here. He is a contrarian in the same sense that Talk Sport is. He says dumb things to promote traffic on this site. In reality, he is a Trot.

Spot on. There is a wider discussion on the failed experiment that is unregulated social media but this is the current state of play.

Trump's call to abolish 230 would have actually shut down his flimflam overnight. I think a lot of the previous complaints about Trump in particular were that he was violating the content rules almost daily, but that they were deemed 'newsworthy' and given a pass. The social media companies started tagging them as possibly inaccurate (possibly???) but that really was almost a pointless exercise. Thankfully that stream of raw sewage is turned off now.
 
Has anyone else notice that the general angst generated in this and the politics thread is starting to spill over into the other threads.

This used to be a really good, light hearted forum with good banter and the odd wacky poster but is slowly descending into a facsimile of other football forums

I suppose it is possible. These are bizarre times, and I think everyone is feeling compromised to a degree, let alone frustrated. But there's still plenty of fun to be had...be sure to listen to the latest episode of the pod chat (should be up in the next couple of days) and I think you'll see that side of things.

Is there anything more fun than watching Scara make a prize fool of himself? Or trump's post electoral college result fallout. Methinks not.

A bit. But no more than (id argue less) than in society as a result of the past few years and the pandemic.

I think if we all decide what/where our line of comfortable engagement is and take a step back, check out a different thread when you hit the limit.
It's like stoking a fire and each of is the fuel - ultimately the forum is a reflection of all of us as a collection and how we engage.
