Mine is one of the best things I own - especially for going on holiday. I'd go for the paperwhite version (old model will do) as the screen is matte and isn't too bright when reading at night.

At home our bookcases are all full of books we can't bear to get rid of, so the only option for me was a kindle.

A friend of mine uses his for work as well, keeps lots of documents/specs/guides on it.

How do you like the Kindle? Thought of getting one years ago. Never did, obviously.

I love it. Got it for Christmas, and have been using it every day. Mine is a paperwhite, and very good for the eyes - at least compared to the mobile screen I've been using too much.

A very useful app I found is called Push to Kindle, which basically sends web articles straight to your Kindle with one touch. I use it for longer web reads, which makes me appreciate and use the Kindle even more than just for books.

Also discovered the Gutenberg project, with free downloads of old classic books (like Scara mentioned). Makes me more likely to read them too.

So bottom line my advice is: Get one!

Has anyone ever seen Paul Ryan and Tim Sherwood in the same room? Can’t be the same person, mind you - Timmy’s much more intelligent.

I watched something on TV the other day that said Trumps US was buoyant and that the US economy was going through a slight boom

The stock market is booming, but that's not a good gauge of the economy. It's just the rich getting richer and when it crashes the less fortunate pay the price. Job creation is at its lowest for years.

I believe the plan is to make up the shortfall with coal miners.
