Alfie Dorrington

The Alfie move is a little confusing when you dig a little deeper.

Aberdeen signed a 24 year old centre half called Kristers Tobers before the weekend. He's 1.9m and is on a 3 year contract. Surely, you're not going to play a 19 year old loanee with no experience over your new signing.

They also have Angus MacDonald, Jack MacKenzie, Gavin Molloy, Jack Milne and Slobodan Rubežić in their pool of centre halves.

Do they have injuries that is perhaps driving the Alfie requirement? Perhaps their existing defenders are just naff or in the departure lounge.

"Alfie is a really exciting young prospect," Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin said.
"He has good speed, stature and good ability on the ball and his arrival will further strengthen our options at centre-back.
"We believe this will be an environment in which he can continue to grow and gain some invaluable match experience in a really competitive league."

At least he's talking about match experience.

Some of those listed don't look like they are cb's. Molloy is out until May
They played a cm as a CB Vs hearts, and he gave away a pen in the 93rd min (they missed)
