Alfie Devine

Every year people complain that we are letting this young player and that young player go - I've never really seen it come back to bite us in the bottom and if they stayed here they might not go on to become the player they could be elsewhere anyway.

All I ever hear is 'Yeah but Kane' and not a lot else. It will likely be a good move for all parties and good luck to him....

one way to look at it is... how many young midfielders go to the championship and gets 8 goals and 7 assists?

Devine is obviously a very talented player at Championship level and who knows how he might progress but every player everywhere are being watched by scouts week in week out , no interest from any of the mega clubs tells a story.

I've seen him a few times this season, I've no doubt he will go on to have a decent career in the Championship and maybe even higher. If he comes here he would be at best a bit part player, you have to consider what's best for the player and he would stand a better chance getting more game time at the level he's playing at and we get a few million in the bank.

If he wasn't our player would we be looking to sign him from Preston this season? I seriously doubt it....

Devine is a talented player, but I don't think he is at the stage where he will break into our team. Or I hope he won't if we can get the right players in.

Let him get on with his career and I hope we see him in the PL soon.

Is his profile any different to say Eze's was at QPR? Or Wharton at Blackburn? The type of signing people always complain we miss

Yes, they were more talented standouts in that division - could see it right away. I like Devine, but don't think he's anywhere near ready for our team and would be eaten alive here.

Far better for his development to continue in the Championship and hopefully he will end up in the PL one day....

Because odds say it won't, so few make it to the top. Spurs academy actually does a fairly decent job at producing lower PL and championship level players.

Personally think Devine is one of those almost players and midfield is where we are overloaded. Moore, Lankshear, probably Williams Barnett if he had stayed fit and anyone we have in FB position is the ones who could have expected a look in of some kind.

I’ve seen him too
He is playing with average players in an average side and shining
He is the kind of player that a mid table prem too would look who’s smart …. And then in a years time time we would say why didn’t we … like Scott at Bournemouth for example
But that’s Tottenham and why we keep on buying more and more unity and forgetting quality is needed too

Preston fans think he'll turn them down because there's interest from Wolves and Ipswich. He was the outstanding player in his position in the championship last season.

Mason would probably be our best CM at the moment. Remember he played 30 games the season we came 3rd.
I don’t think he was.
