2022 World Cup... gonna ruin the European Season

This Morocco keeper! Looks like Spain are stuck in a moment and they can't get out of it.

Have some fantastic quality in that team, but very much lacking real quality up front. Rather astonishing that a county can produce so many good footballers without being able to produce a top level goalscoring attacker.

Portugal look a better team without Ronaldo

It's almost like having a striker that can run, press and play for the team instead of just himself is a good thing.

A chance to take a good breather at the end, but everyone has to try to get Ronaldo a goal, because that's the important thing to him.

Portugal may just be in this is they can keep him on the bench from the start. And of course if you need a goal towards the end he's not a bad option to have for 20 minutes unless he's just sulking about being a sub.

So I reckon we still have 6 first teamers out there
Romero v Australia
Richarlsion v Perisic
Lloris v Kane and Dier
Some Other Game...

Wonder how that stacks up against our rivals in the PL??

It looks like whenever Ronaldo doesn't feature Portugal do well. Although that Euro win was quite a forgettable performance.

So, basically, Yanited is fudged. Then City, even though their second string is probably better than any other PL team's first XI. And then us. So go Holland, Brasil, Portugal, and France!

Nice to see Santos go the ETH route on cr7

I worry about lack of impact on Saudi Sportswashing Machine this world cup will have

Hope argies lose v the dutch we need a fit romero back. Would be good for france to win as well

Richarlison could have an amazing year, i'd bet it's a france v brazil final with france winning it again

Saudi Sportswashing Machine have no european football this season. Apart from injuries the wc was not going to be an issue for them.

Ahead of the England-France match, there's a fun read in The Athletic from Guest Writer, Mauricio Pochettino. The only man who has managed both Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe. Good insights into both players and it wraps up with the following paragraphs:

This is something that unites Harry and Kylian. They really love the game.

Sometimes, big players love playing football but they don’t love the game itself. But these two genuinely love the game itself. They love to talk about football, they love to talk about tactics, they have brains that really understand football.

And this is why I think it would be so good to see them playing together. They would be completely compatible. It could be similar to the bond that Harry has with Son Heung-min at Spurs. The connection would be amazing and the two could share ideas about tactics and movements.

Maybe it will never happen; when I was at PSG, I knew Tottenham would never want to sell Harry. And I never wanted to do anything that would affect Tottenham because I love Tottenham. But maybe one day in the future, if I am at a different club and if Harry has decided to leave Tottenham, maybe I would try to bring Harry with me.

And so if you asked me to name two great attacking players who could play well together, it would be Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe.

So, if we ever get Poch back to manage Spurs, there's hope we can lure Mbappe to join us.
