That would depend on what the other side of that equation is. How much money are we saving over the years on Levy being a tough negotiator? We can't know...

I find the idea that swiftly agreeing a deal is the key to avoid getting "hijacked" difficult to believe. Agents will be looking for the best possible deals for their players and probably keep other interested clubs in the loop when a deal gets close. Not saying it couldn't be a factor...

    Eberechi Eze

I'm really brick at predicting the future... Seems like we have cash to spend on deals and a wish to bring in relatively proven players. I want us to succeed at that and expect from the club to have several potential plans to achieve that. I'd be disappointed if there's not at least one quality...

    Eberechi Eze

No offence taken or perceived. I get that not everyone will agree with me that the time to evaluate the window is when it's over and that's obviously fine. Always disappointing when what looked like a potential deal for a really good player doesn't happen. And in most cases where things don't...

    Savinho

He's worth that if he's both more or less ready made to make a good impact here and now this season as a fairly regular starter and has the potential to be a great/elite player in the future imo. If those things are true I'm not 100% sure, he looks like that player to me though.

    Eberechi Eze

That seems likely. Don't think this was just a "oh we got an injury signing", they've been interested in him for a long time. On to the next. The time to evaluate our business in the transfer window is when it closes and then again at some point in the future.

    Savinho

The price when he signed for City was probably lower than it otherwise would have been as it was a transfer between "City group" players. Since then he's shown that he's a good/very good PL player.

    FFS...it's happening again!!!

Quite a few "looks", but then also different game states, different players. But yeah, in theory we should get better the more we practice each approach. Some learning from the PSG game that can be useful for the City game etc. I think there are some benefits to a more "this is how we play" - I...

Not denying that getting players in late can be a problem. On a larger scale of issues we've had and can have with recruitment it's imo a rather minor thing that gets overblown. Even a slight increase in getting the right players in would to me be preferable to a large increase in getting...

Based only on highlights of him and having absolutely no idea how good/poor the opposition was looking significantly better than not out of place even?

    Daniel Levy - Chairman

Are there really any Spurs fans that have a higher loyalty to ENIC than Spurs? I can't remember ever getting that impression from anyone I've ever interacted with.

*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Burnley FC ***

Not at the match, only watched on TV. For me the biggest change was more players taking more responsibility (and risk) on the ball. Mentioned Gray in particular earlier. Not sure that counts as a tactical change or not? Then we got the second goal and Burnley faded.

    Daniel Levy - Chairman

I pretty much agree with all that. On the risk part I think Levy is reluctant to the point of unwillingness to put us in a position where if things don't work out (manager, transfer window signings) we're left in a situation without flexibility. Had we not won the EL last season we still would...

    Cristian Romero

Can't be many squads that are more suited than ours to switching between a back 3 and a back 4? As you say players comfortable at stepping into midfield. But also quite a few of our centre backs that are really good at defending in wider areas. 3 full backs that are also comfortable and have...

    Rodrigo Bentancur

Would definitely be good news. At his best he's a classy player. May not have seen that consistently since before his injury, but he's still good. And I think one reason we haven't seen that has been due to tactics and the role he's been playing. With Palhinha in I think he'll play more in a...

    Transfer thread

If we get two more attacking players in I think it makes sense to mostly see our current midfielders as mostly competing for two starting spots. Even more so with Kulusevski returning. Palhinha, Bentancur, Sarr, Bergvall, Gray... That's quite a few options for two spots.

    Eberechi Eze

Have to shake the tape deck and then balance it upside down on two boxes. Not quite sure what the Levy in negotiations equivalent of that is, but he probably has some moves resembling that.
  18. B

    Cristian Romero

Had 3-4 poor losses of possession, misplaced passes that gave them counter attacking opportunities. He was a bit rusty/sloppy may be part of it. I think part of it was he tried to do too much in part as a result of others not taking enough responsibility. To what extent it was tactical I'm not...

    Pedro Porro

The key being having multiple players who take responsibility and act as leaders regardless of who has the armband. Perhaps we're getting there.

    Pedro Porro

I think he very much is. And from what I can see from the outside a good one at that. Seems to lead by example and demand things from others. As a side note I quite liked the delegation of the team talk to Porro. Many ways to be a captain, if you think a different player is the better one to...
