Real foolishly wouldn't. Its crazy squad building. They have arguably 3 world class LWFs and no striker.

I think for most the smart additions needed this summer were RWF/DM/comp LB/CM in that order I would say. After that maybe a striker if quality one could be found. I'd say 2 out of the 4 needed is a good start. I do agree that a DM next would be nice to see but not super worried as of yet.

Umm I dunno. There's something to be said for the idea of another AM. If Frank is going to play say Kulu more so obviously the right (I think he should stay central personally) and if he's not a super fan of Maddison it can make sense. It even makes sense if he just isn't sold on Maddison and...

You have to have extreme quality in other areas to make up for the lack of a top striker for this to work. France had world class defence along with Zidane and a young really young Henry (that people weren't even noticing at the time). Pool had Salah and Mane and Firminio was a fantastic...

Did my research and it seems he played a lot of left wing last season and it's not a role that he excels in. At least according to West Ham who watched a lot of him. The first season was as you say mostly him on the right which is where he played for Ajax as well.

Dm is also important but as you know for me the right sided attacker was absolutely the priority. I'm just happy someone at the club sees it the way I do. It bodes well because we also seem to ignore our weaknesses and go for deals rather than for needs. This was a need and it's been addressed.

I just realised something. Priority number 1 has actually been addressed and before preseason matches even start. This never happens.

Noice. I remember a few being surprised we didn't go for him directly from Ajax. It was a bit of coup for West Ham to get him in the first place. I look forward to seeing technical ability return to our right hand side.

Villa played through him. He was allowed a lot of freedom of space and also ball possession. At City it's all a bit more systemic and he's not good enough and suited enough to demand as much of the ball. He's also not especially direct, he got lauded a largely because he's very good at keeping...

Yes I remembered that after I posted. its funny because there are loads of records that have stood for 20+ years despite the advances in conditioning. Especially the case with the more skill or technique based sports ie. Javelin, Hurdles, Long and Triple Jump etc.

As I mentioned earlier I don't really care about pure stats without context, they don't really tell much. As I said earlier Johnson has more goals than Figo ever had in a single season, add his assists and he probably ends up with more G/A. Am I supposed to think Johnson is also better than...

They can run around all day, they ain't touching the ball. 🤣 And sure in purely athletic competitions the standards generally improve but that's not even always the case. The mens long jump ecord has stood for over 30 years, the triple jump for about 25+ years. The 400m hurdles stood for 30 odd...

Yeah I hear that, that's why I think height is less important than the actual leap and aggression like you point out. Also reading of the flight of ball is just as key.

I disagree. Arsenal aren't beating 94 AC Milan or 96 Juventus. You can around all you want if they have faaar better ball players you won't touch the ball and they did. 2025 PSG or Liverpool aren't getting a touch Vs 09 Barca either. Fitness levels may have improved but technique has not.

Its not that I'm discrediting his goals it's just that he only scored a particular type of system goal. There isn't a variety to the goals, which largely supports my view that the goals he scored are a product of the system Ange played moreso than any individual brilliance from him. Then you add...

The people complaint wants name recognition signings. They want people whom they are either familiar with already or those that rivals fans are so they can brag about the signing.

How tall is he? I saw some highlights of him versus CR7 and he seemed to handle the crosses rather well. I think height is a little overrated for defenders to be honest. Leap is more important. Loon at VDV hes 6,4 but pretty rubbish in the air.

We are going to have to agree to disagree because I don't rate players on statistical returns, stats are useful but they often lack context. Johnson's stats look decent but he contributed nothing outside of finishing a particular type of chance to the team s overall hindrance, he's a poor...

At this point there's probably something to it but back in 18 he was really smart but from Milan. It those kind of signings that baffle me, we clearly needed a LB and Hernandes was out there and available but he just never seemed on our radar. I really wanted his bro more but that was never ever...
