Knutsen from Bodø Glimt, the only thing is that he would need 2-3 years to build a team and we dont give that. But hell he can make a team play like a team.
The problem is always that these appointments from smaller clubs are viewed in an idealistic sense, with the manager given time, money, and full support from fans and players to bring over whatever worked for them at their smaller clubs.
We don't work that way. We almost never have. Any overachieving manager who comes to us from a small club has to contend with three things - firstly, a group of players who think themselves better than him. Secondly, a board that will not buy him the players he needs. And finally, a crowd that will not give him time.
These are not small challenges - they doom almost any manager that 'steps up' from a small, well-run club like Brighton, Brentford or Bodo, and comes to a club like ours. Potter went through the exact same thing with Chelsea, and the only reason Maresca lasted as long as he did, was that he brought success instantly.
We should be thinking differently. A Spurs coach needs to be a big personality, who can dominate the stands and the dressing room - who can get the players onside, and who can coach results and attractive play even without board support, because Lord knows he won't get it.
On the market right now, the only interim that could possibly do that is De Zerbi, but he's a repulsive nutcase (and I mean, repulsive in the personal sense - Frank was a good human being, De Zerbi is 100% not). And permanently...well, there's only one real option now.
Bring Poch home.
