Thought he was totally anonymous. Clash of heads after 24 seconds suggested he tried to make a name for himself at Spurs very soon. But the remaining 100 minutes or so were just ... nothing. Most of Bentancurs games this season have been better. Think he'll come good though.
I was at the game, watching him in anticipation of what he could bring. Did not really witness that.Do you think that most of Conor's best work was off the ball and not necessarily picked up by the TV cameras? That can happen with player like himself and Bents.
Admittedly, I wasn't overly impressed with his debut but what I did notice was momentum shifting in our direction in the second half. That is normally down to the engine room players doing the hard yards. I'm guessing Conor was part of that equation.
Looked a bit off the pace, no surprise. Still moments where you can see what he brings. He’s a solid player who has some quality. He’s not going to win games by himself. And atm we have to answer the question: who is going to score the goals.
i saw a lot of him fighting and winning balls not entirely anonymous like odobert, muani and solanke (for the time he had)Thought he was totally anonymous. Got forward more in the second half, when we actually tried to attack and play with more "risk". Showed a bit of what he can do if he's given that freedom to roam and move.Do you think that most of Conor's best work was off the ball and not necessarily picked up by the TV cameras? I agree. The biggest issue with Gallagher will be for those who expect him to make a dramatic difference. That's just not his game, he's very much more of the same but a better version of it (how much better is to be determined). He doesn't bring a new and different skill set to the starting 11, he isn't able to do the things that some of us think the squad is missing.
I do expect with a happier 11, additional players who have the qualities we are missing and a coach who is getting more out of the team in general, Gallagher's better qualities will shine but if you're expecting a dramatic difference to come from him in this environment, you will be disappointed.
