Joao Palhinha

Really happy with this signing he will fill what is a big hole in our CM. Those who keep saying [ he is 30] so what if he is its the perfect age for us at this time. It will enable our younger players Bergvell, Gray to not have to play in a position which is not their best. I have no doubt that he will enable us not to be overun in CM.

it will also allow Bentacur to play in the posistion he is best at.

its not just age but he's been kept out of a bayern side through injury, missing about half a season and kompany only gave him about 6 or 7 starts for whatever reason.

Yeah you know this is a key thing in that injury aside you end up sort of forgetting that Bentancur looked so good pre-injury partly because he had Hojbjerg alongside him allowing him to do the box to box and not worry so much about runners off his shoulder and not losing the ball in tight spaces. I'm not saying that Bissouma shouldn't be sold due to squad reasons but again we've never seen the best of Bissouma as we've never played him in his natural position- we bought him off the back of tremendous seasons at Brighton as a 10 or an 8 and then said "we want you to be a 6" basically because we sold Hojbjerg and had nobody else to play that role (and because Ange said some gumpf about not believing in it)

They played together didn't they? We bought bissouma in 2022.

I don’t think it was guff. It was just that a destroyer type playing the simple ball out was not as useful when we have all the attackers and other midfielders so advanced. Biss was a good option in that role when things were working.

He was a good option in games we dominated where we weren't pressured on the ball and we didn't have to face waves of attacks.

Goeretska isn't better than Bissouma, would struggle in the EPL
Pavlovic - only 21 and Kompany's pick over Palhinha - isn't Pavlovic a more interesting profile ?

Right now Paulinha is living off past hype, he will have to earn my respect.
