European semi final

It's a really nice little town, and when you're there you are very close to Lofoten, which is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been (and you'd be getting there before the tourist season). There's a ferry from Bodø going out there. I would be concerned about there being enough bars to host the amount of people going, but Kandi will know more about that. Also, Norway is expensive, especially when a million people are trying to get rooms in one little town.

Bars and pubs will be packed, but I suppose if you turn up early enough, there won't be a problem getting a place to sit. Not really been to the pubs before a game there, so wouldn't know how early you'd have to turn up, but I'd guess at least a couple of hours before.
Went on a pub tour after the Lazio game, and it was packed everywhere. Still found seats for our group though. But I suspect it'll be a lot more people for this game, given the amount of Spurs fans as well.

I thought it was a good performance given the way things have gone, we still didn't have the control I would like to see but the players made less personal errors which made a massive difference. Was pleased to see it meant a lot to the players and gives them the will and confidence to improve our performances.

Errors were still made, they did miss a couple of sitters.

We only scored one, and that from a penalty.

We were the better side over the two games, but we were never comfortable.

I’ll take that against a side that is third in the Bundesliga and can’t be underrated, especially travelling to their’s needing a win and achieving that within 90 minutes and keeping a clean sheet.

What's the British "national food"? Just wondering what banners the bodø glimt fans will come up with this time. For the Lazio games, they had banners with "Tørrfesk beats spaghetti" *(Tørrfesk = dried fish) 😂

If you'd seen the scores but not the teams there's no way anyone would think our tie would be the lowest scoring of the QFs.
We made errors, but have you seen the absolute school boy defending in the other games?
Actually don't watch them, I don't think it would be good for your health.

I saw some of it.

I’m primarily concerned with our defence though, and we still have a lot of improvement to do.

As long as it's your team not making them I think they are watchable

Bit of weird omen special, does this sound familiar?

- semi-final of European trophy
- 2nd leg away
- green away kit
- chance of final against UK team
- final in Spain

Can we do one better?
Well we won’t be playing Liverpool and the other teams seem beatable so why not! But don’t want to get my hopes up yet.

This is the thing, there are some who wanted to see Ange with his full team back after the ridiculous injuries before giving a final judgement. Yes we now have those players back, but Ange has not played them together in the PL because the focus is Europa League. In the PL you are having mishmash defences with Ben Davies, Gray etc mixed in there and when you do this you are always likely to be disjointed.

Between now and the end of the season I doubt much is going to change, will likely rotate and wrap the likes of VDV in cotton wool and only really play our strongest team in the EL and I have no complaints with that tbh....
I agree mostly mate. But given he has had an awful season in the league and that’s what counts in the long run, he needs to show that he can embed his system there against better opposition than we are likely to face in the Europa. Otherwise we will be back here next season.

Of course, no one thinks where we are and will finish is acceptable. But for me one of the most important things is whether he and the whole medical staff have learnt from the injury nightmare we went through, because as much as people want to complain about his tactics that is what really killed us.

We was well within reach of the European spots before that happened, and the sheer volume of injuries just did for us - any team would struggle, in a typical season you would be able to field at least 80% of your first eleven for the majority of the season, we didnt get close to that opportunity. Having our first choice back 5 available and we are so much better, how many games have they played together this season? Of course injuries happen but not to anywhere near what we have experienced - get that rectified and that is a big part of the battle won already. That's not me saying Ange doesn't have things to work on, but this is his first time in a top level league so there was always going to be bumps and a learning curve just as there is with players new to the PL. If he continues to show progress in EL games (I've written off a he PL ones because he won't play anywhere near our first team for us to properly judge) then I'm open to him continuing because I don't think he is quite the 'chancer' some like to portray....

It happened a month into the season, everyone was in reach of the European slots in September.
