Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying he won't make it, I'm just saying that its too early to be talking about him in the prem smashing them in for us. Different quality of defending for sure.I guess we might even get to find out quite quickly with Lanks.
Lanks as a 21 year old is smashing the goals in at the top of the Championship for Boro. I they get promoted then he will be tested as a 22 year old at the bottom of the PL. Whether with Boro or another PL team we might get to see Lanks at the PL level quite a lot.
In a few weeks we will have Savi back, so all Mudryk will succeed in doing is steal minutes from LWB.Let’s not forget this man. He is due back in a few weeks so he’ll have little time to make any impact before the window opens - which i hope means he bangs a few in for us around Christmas.
Beckford and Nugent also smashed goals in for fun in the championship not exactly top class Prem players were they?
Presumably all strikers would score about a quarter of the goals in the Prem, that they could in a dominant Championship side.
If Boro are steamrolling their way to the title and Lankshear gets 40 goals, he should stay there into the Prem and see how he gets on in the big league. Obviously it will be very tough going for a promoted side, so he might only get single figures.
Then we can get a better look at how he is performing and whether he can make the leap, and then grab him back if we want to. I'm sure he would love to play for us again at that point. I presume he has family and friends around the Spurs area.

Who did these players play for in the prem?Sorry my mistake, not Beckford, i meant Rhodes. Beckford was more league 1.

100%Lankshear will score goals wherever he plays, he may not get 20 in PL that would depend on what team he's at, he's a goal scorer.
Who did these players play for in the prem?
Thats the key
To score goals you need chances
Most teams come up and create very little.
No one normally gets double digits for any team that’s got promoted if you look at it
It’s because the gap between the divisions is so high.
Yep, when Liam Delap signed for newly promoted Ipswich, he top scored for them with 12 PL goals that season, helping them to stay up.
That was his only season at Ipswich (and if he had stayed there, who knows?), but Chelsea triggered a release clause.
So even if a striker does have a good first season in the PL, there are obviously no guarantees in terms of longevity thereafter.
Yep cheers, my bad, it was the 2004-25 season when they got relegated, and then Chelsea bought Delap right after in early June 2025.Which season was this? I don't remember them staying up recently...
