Naughty Emirates Marketing Project - Spot of Compo??

Right.
But it's not going to happen that way and you know it.
How do you slap a 315 point deduction? It's beyond application.
The 5 window transfer ban is applicable.
When have executives been suspended or expelled (genuine question, I don't know - Abramovich obviously does not count).
Here's hoping what you outline is the least that happens!

The Leeds owner from 2015 era Cellino got suspended and effectively forced to sell for dodgy agent payments.

Ah yes, thanks.

In fairness, this is a whole different ball of wax though. It is essentially taking on a nation state.

Could very easily see the Mansour throwing Khaldoon and a few others under the bus. I’d imagine their message to the Royals has been don’t worry we will win the case.

Well, brace yourselves gentlemen because I don't think any of the things discussed in this thread will ever happen, bar for a hefty point deduction and a hefty fine.

The game's no longer about glory, it's about money (I'm writing like an AI now!). The whole transfer market has been on a meteoric upward curve for years now and the sad truth is, a lot of clubs need Emirates Marketing Project - or their money, at least. It's like a house of cards: if you pull them out of the equation, you run the risk of a massive collapse, even more so in football because payments have spread on a number of years.

Everybody knows Barcelona, Real, PSG, Emirates Marketing Project and Chelsea don't play fair, but they need their money. Professional football is already on the verge of collapse in France, where clubs aren't allowed to run massive debts, and some people already claim Italy is next.

It was the same with Champions League money. In lesser competitions, they knew it would completely tip the scales and the first clubs to do well there would dominate their local league for years, if not decade. But... they would also spend money, buy players from your club or maybe your club would one day qualify for the Champions League too and then you'd get a slice from the cake.

It's a difficult balancing act between giving the fans the illusion that you can't cheat (when, in reality, you have to cheat to be successful) and making sure our Gulf States friends aren't scared away because despite inflate TV money, football is spending a lot more than it generates, which means someone has to pump money into football and Europe is running out of billionaires.

Similar points were made on 5Live about the TV money/financials. I suppose Rangers show that action can still be taken even when the outcome is a less (much less in the case of the SPL) attractive product.

Think same way you would be answerable to your lco council and the overall country then UK government.

Football definitely doesn't work like this. There are no clear lines of decision rights unfortunately. Over time each body has given themselves more and more empowerment and never sought permission.

There is no linear model like you say. FIFA has no governance over UEFA. Cefferin and Infantino are at war with each other. The PL doesn't respect the authority of the FA. The only time that happened in recent years where the FA with our UK government smacked some PL and Sky heads together over COVID.

Everyone is focus on the money and that suits City, I know I hold an old fashioned belief that football is about glory and the dreams of it. The owners of City aren't in it for the money it's the prestige winning brings them, take that away from them. Sticking them in 2nd division and enforcing the rules on them will make them "small time", there's little glory in that for them.
My mate (who's not a football fan) thinks the owning state of City has so much influence on our governments and will use it to to their advantage to gain favourable sanctions.

I'd like to see them get their due, but I'm not holding up my breath. Also, no disrespect, but Rangers are but a speck in the grand scheme of things. It would be interesting to see how much they contributed to Scottish football's money pot, but City are in a different league (see what I did here?) - their downfall would impact a lot of clubs in England and all over Europe.

The Spanish gouvernment once saved Real Madrid from bankruptcy. I'm pretty sure a lot of people who never attended a football game in their entire lives would do a lot of things to make sure people like us continue to get their weekly dose of entertainment...

I think its going to be very complex, I hope I am wrong.

Ultimately, so your last point, I think there will be huge pressure on governments and the influence on the UK from that part of the world is massive. If they decided to pull out their slots on Etihad for example or their friends in Dubai decide to pull their investment in Horse Racing etc (I am using loose examples here). But they have alot of power and sway which I think will be wielded, if its successful or not, who knows

What do you need to ensure relegation? A 60pt deduction? They'll give them a 315pt deduction to make it sound severe, but will amount to the same thing.

Spread it out over a 10 year period or whatever the length of time the charges are. You cheat for ten years you should be punished over 10 years. 31 point deduction every season

I think the FL will be happy to go along with applying punishments to City as well, it would send out a massage to the 72 clubs they oversee that they will not accept cheating.

So I guess you divide it by however many seasons you want and relegate them to league 2
