Also, why would City ever be answerable to UEFA directly? They are under The FA's jurisdiction. UEFA should seek permission from our FA if they want to interact with any of our clubs. Did Emirates Marketing Project ever give UEFA permission to negotiate on their behalf with the broadcasting companies only for the participating clubs get a 55% share in the UEFA comps? Did City give UEFA permission to use the other 45% to plough money into other countries and have an average UEFA staff salary of 150k euros?
This is the game being played here. The super league fiasco was very interesting when UEFA got their arses kicked around in court. They know they are on thin ice with their biggest stakeholders.

You must see this devil's advocate point of view right? What happens when the investigators are surgically investigated themselves? Are they water-tight? I actually doubt it.

Having said that, here's four things which have to happen.
1) The current City ownership have to be found unfit for purpose and forced to sell.
2) The fines should be annual for each year they breached/broke the rules. Paid in full annually.
3) There should be a transfer ban for three seasons.
4) Immediate European ban for 5 seasons.
I want points deductions but I cannot see any way it can happen fairly this season with regards to teams played and teams to play. Probably the only thing which could be done is to give them a 60 - 70 point deduction from the start of NEXT season.
I think that given the amount of time these dingdongs and their lawyers have stretched this out, we can wait an extra few months after Xmas to sanction a fair points punishment. Essentially, anything they win this season will be even more tainted than what they won prior.

The point deductions have always come within the season that we are in. Everton, Forest etc. It would also be a PR disaster for City to win the league this season.

A fair point for sure, and I suppose with the precedent set as you stated they can do so. I think it is going to be very problematic all round, and given how the game has become increasingly litigious, I am bracing for suit after suit as various sides claim 'damages' from a variety of scenarios. What a mess!

Money is no punishment for City. The game is about glory, dreams and enjoyment and they have crushed that for fans.
I couldn't care if we got £250m it would never compensate for what might have been.
If a team had been found guilty of 114 infringement of league rules they would have been thrown out of all the leagues I've ever played in.
The more I read of this situation I fear City will suffer no meaningful punishment for years of cheating.
The media are just sitting on the fence I've not read or heard any comments which demonstrate any outrage at their actions or call for draconian action. After years of kissing their arse they can't bring themselves to face they've backed a wrong 'un.

£80M in total fines
£30M reduction in Premier League income for each season

I listened incredulously to an hour of the Monday Night Club on 5Live tonight as Mark Chapman (we have to protect the view of the PL around the world), Pat Nevin (the players weren’t at fault and shouldn’t be punished) and Joe Hart (believes everything City have said on being innocent) essentially argued to leave well alone.
Thankfully a few fans messaged in and told them they were talking garbage.

I wouldn't be too hard on such productions, I've seen Lineker and Neville get some stick over this too, they have to protect their companies from litigation, it's a minefield.

Understandable but it's not controversial or slanderous to say anyone found guilty of breaking the rules for such a long period should face punishment that will be both lengthy and a deter others from such actions.

Goodness grief that must have been a frustrating listen. None of those points even stand up on their own merits.
The view of the PL around the world is not going to be helped by Emirates Marketing Project being found guilty on 114 charges and then getting off without much of a punishment. That would render the league a joke that nobody would take seriously,
The players weren’t dealing with the financials but they may never well have been there had the cheating not occurred.
And Joe Hart…the thing about believing everything City have said is that they have said absolutely nothing except the fact that they are innocent? Even the closest they get to critiquing the original leaks is to say they are inadmissible and out of context, they don’t meaningfully argue the substance. So I’m not sure how he can believe it.
I think City are fudged, and it’s the reason the case took so long. Everyone assumed it was because it would fizzle out on account of City’s owners being able to lawfare for as long as they want. But I think it was more making the PL a water tight case.

I think the only reason the media are sitting on the fence is because the detail of the findings haven’t been announced and no one wants to prejudice the proceedings or put themselves in the legal firing line.
I think they’re going to get a serious punishment, at least one relegation and titles stripped at the minimum. I think the question is how far down the pyramid they get sent, and how much compensation they will have to pay other clubs that missed out on prizes, prize money, and European revenue because of their cheating.

How do you slap a 315 point deduction? It's beyond application.
The 5 window transfer ban is applicable.
When have executives been suspended or expelled (genuine question, I don't know - Abramovich obviously does not count).
Here's hoping what you outline is the least that happens!
