Having lived in multiple countries where English isn't the main language, it's a pet peeve to hear English speakers (who likely can't fudging order a beer in another language) go after statements made by people who aren't working in their native language.

Ha, I lost a loved one to dementia this year and at the conditions worst I was physically attacked by that family member, I hold no grudgses as it's an awful illness that takes everything from someone and morphs them into something they're not. Sitting in that ward, I heard people yammering away repeating the same phrases over and over again, whether you want to clutch your pearls or not, there's a similarity.
It's a valid comparison and if it offends you, as Richy would say, cry about it
