Richarlison

Of course you won’t — I wasn’t expecting you to. If someone doesn’t share the same black-and-white views as you, with no room whatsoever for nuance or ambiguity, then I suppose it’s much easier to just imply bigotry right?

Perhaps you can answer the actual question, though: why did you change the subject in the first place?

I’ll hold my hands up and say the comments I made about Richarlison were uncalled for. They were OTT, and I accept that. It’s a football forum, though. People vent, get carried away and say things in the heat of the moment. That’s hardly unusual.

I could, I suppose, take a leaf out of your book and spend my time acting as some sort of unwanted forum moral police, jumping on everyone whose opinion or choice of words I don’t agree with. Like a modern day Mary Whitehouse. But that wouldn’t make for much of a football forum would it.

It sounds like you're going through some kind of danish furniture lover holier than thou breakdown, I sincerely hope I'm wrong on that one.

It's not just that I don't agree with your opinion, it's the need to repeat it endlessly like a toddler nobody is listening to. As for changing the subject, my point was clearly explained, those two subjects account for a large percentage of your posts. It'll also be true that a big chunk of my posts will be jumping to Richy's defense! If it takes me chirping for you to realise it's a bit odd to be a grown man kicking off about a hairstyle you don't like, then I'm glad to be of service.

As for bigotry, @ me in the trans thread if you wanna go down that route. For here and now, the beautiful bastard that is Richy still represents us better than grouchy blokes on the internet crying about someone's appearance, so why not tell us all again how you don't rate him? It's been a while 😃

So what’s the problem exactly with repeating an opinion? Isn’t that what everyone else does on this place? Whether it’s stating how much they hate Liverpool or Trump or arguing for or against Levy (a thread I’ve been very active in btw but it clearly doesn’t suit your agenda to highlight that). If I said how much I rate Richarlison in every post you’d have no issue with it. So it’s clearly the content you perceive as negative that you have an issue with. Surely it’s better to just put people you don’t want to engage with or see their opinions on ignore than trying to police everything you don’t like? Just a sign of the times we live in I guess. People can’t just ignore what’s not for them.

He is our best finisher
He just isn’t our best kicker of the ball
His record for one touch finishes is great
Ask him to do anything else as a CF and it’s not his thing
But I do think he will be gone tomorrow
Someone will come in for him and do a deal

All true and yet it is not enough - we ended 17th

The way he plays, he is supposed to be the sole goal getter and he isn't that good getting into positions too.

A reminder of what we are up against in the PL:

There's an argument for the power of positivity, and also it's a good idea to be aware of what one has said previously. If you need to repeat it it's almost like you're trying to convince yourself. Everyone does it to a certain extent but this isn't a retirement home for dementia sufferers, if you've said pretty much the same thing without budging on anything 20 times, what satisfaction does the 21st get you?

I'd have an issue with major exaggerations and strawman arguments whether it suited my preconceptions or not, trust me on that one. It's just that your views on the player are particularly tedious, and childish if we're talking about personal attacks on appearance.

You have the right to post banal views, I have the right to react to them, it's just where our tolerance levels lie. I'm not out to protect myself from your views, I'd just rather they were thought provoking. It's going a bit Alan Partridge trying to make everything into a microcosm of society and how you just can't share an opinion these days, sign of the times yada yada yada.

What’s the deal then, is he staying now?
Unfortunately we weren't able to get a deal done to move him on it seems. He'd rather stay here for one more year.

I wonder what the gap in wages between what he gets here for 1 more year is versus signing a 4 or 5 contract at Everton. You would think that 4 or 5 years of that guaranteed salary is worth more than the remaining year of his Spurs deal?

Unless the gap is that large that he thinks it's better to sign on as a free agent somewhere next year, maybe even Everton?

To be honest, the more I read Richy's comments from yesterday, the less I have any idea what he's saying.
If you believe the internet conspiracies Richy has supposedly had his career guided by outside influencers who have had a control or a big say on where his money goes. He is apparently now free of this "control"

Supposedly this move back to Everton involved a pay cut which now that he has full control he wasn't willing to do.

That's if you believe all the internet speculation. I think it's a bit 2 + 2 but that's what the kids are suggesting is behind it all.

This has been fun — and I use “fun” in the loosest possible sense of the word — but I think a line has to be drawn somewhere. You’re clearly not going to change your posting style, and I’m clearly not going to change my mind.

Also, well done on the comparison to dementia. Coming from someone who is so often offended by the slightest breach of propriety, while enthusiastically wagging a sanctimonious finger at other posters, that was quite ironic.

Anyway, I think we’ve both made our positions abundantly clear. Have a nice day.

I don’t think he does or I think it would have happened.

Hopefully he’ll get a good deal out of here very soon.
I haven't re-read this thread so apologies if discussed but I though Everton were offering less than he was on here and thats why he was posting about not letting other people force him to do things anymore etc. I think Everton are his first choice but not offering him what he is on now.

All guess work though. Gonna be awkward if he doesn't move today and still here

Translating this Brazilian news report, it claims that Richarlison's former agent/manager was taking more than twice the amount of money that he was entitled to as a fee from Richy's wage and also had power of attorney with which actions were being taken without Richy's knowledge.
This was a guy who'd lived with him for 7 years and been deeply trusted

Ha, I lost a loved one to dementia this year and at the conditions worst I was physically attacked by that family member, I hold no grudgses as it's an awful illness that takes everything from someone and morphs them into something they're not. Sitting in that ward, I heard people yammering away repeating the same phrases over and over again, whether you want to clutch your pearls or not, there's a similarity.

It's a valid comparison and if it offends you, as Richy would say, cry about it 😃
