Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

It was one in a combined batch of 30 photos though - I think the unintentional/haste explanation is probably reasonable in this case
It may have been in haste, but I still think social media employees for political figures need to be extra careful and review every picture, if your only excuse is “we were batch reposting” my answer would be well be more careful then.

We’ll put aside for now that Farage accusing anyone of inciting violence is hilarious.

I'm sorry to hear and hope they all keep safe

Could you explain the context. Is this domestic strife, or Pakistan vs India border skirmish?

Internal. The deal was when Pak Kashmir was kept on Pak side that the water which is ours thst flows to the dam that powers most of Pakistan, would mean we get free electricity and have federal type devolution.

That dam was so badly built by the brits it has left a load of our lands under water. Hence why so many of us were gifted visas in the 70s to come and work in the UK.

Now the Pak army is trying to renegotiate.

The people of Pak Kashmir (70% of the UK diaspora) have had no favors. We've got fudge all infrastructure support. Alot of what there is has been built by us for ourselves.

However I do think they need to consider the armies demands as they have guns and we don't really.

And look, although the T-Shirt references the XTC Album guillotine I think he was likely being underhand and knew what he was doing.

He is a plank though, as are all the reform members who promoted the idea that MPs should be shot or attacked, silly people

Margaret On The Guillotine was also the original title of the Smiths' The Queen Is Dead (and later resurfaced as a track on Viva Hate)

It may reference an album, but everyone knows the inference that will be taken.

The social media team should have seen it and should have been better.

He runs his own social media.

Beyond the obvious. The biggest attack right now on Farage relates to the £5M he took. His claim is that money is to cover his security costs. Whether you beleive him or not, that claim is given more validity in the wake of Widdocombes murder when an opposition leader is posting this kind of thing even if it’s an extremly niche reference to a 40 year old song.

The smart move now from Polanski and the greens will be to own it and apolagise without trying to make any jokes or attempts at oneupmanship. I doubt they will.

I thought he's always stated he runs his SM himself?

I could be wrong but I thought I saw a quote with something about a ‘social media team’ and how they missed it - could have been rubbish. But yeah, either way, just a daft thing to post whoever it was that missed it.

If he wants to be a real alternative (and I’m not sure on him) then he needs to not fall into the same daft brick Reform do.

The 'rise' of some of these parties has come at them quickly....but you have to be agile and adjust to the requirements and responsibilities as you grow larger. Sometimes that takes money (no excuse for Reform), or the time of some volunteers.

I think what he has now said in reply is pretty well thought out tbh

Although personally I might have just gone for the full straightforward apology to toad face.

He should have both explained it was inadvertent and apologised at the same time. And used the opportunity to make the point about how politicians should take care not to use divisive language or to distribute inflammatory material. etc. Apologise again for the error and hands up that he did not pay the attention he should.
All he has now done is give Reform even more oxygen.

Did you read his reasoning?

He has testified openly over 200 times to Congress but feels Rand Paul is weaponising this and refuses to give even a soundbite that could be out of context quoting. Seems reasonable.

Still 439 more times pleading the 5thtil he catches up with the Tangerine Taco.

Well they are keeping the Standards Commissioner busy for sure

Shame Polanski has given them a distraction.
