As the value of Argentinian players might've gone down somewhat after their shameful antics last week and I can't imagine Spanish clubs will be lining up to sign them any more than English ones, what with the hostile reception they'll get.

That's the least of our problems....

Our major issue is that clubs know we have no place for him with Senesi and Van Hecke and therefore will have us over a barrel in megotiations. Plus I don't see big clubs who can afford his salary jumping over each other to get his signature

I wouldn’t be shocked if he ends up going on a loan. He’s not good enough for the elite tier clubs. His wages are too high for the clubs on our level.

Let's see where he ends up first - while I'm not his biggest fan I'd find it hard to believe that Serie A is the best he could do - top players in their prime don't go there from the PL anymore

Yeah I wouldn't have expected him to end up there but it seems that's the only place he's been strongly linked to of late.

Maybe he just likes the lifestyle there and fancies going back...

No not particularly, but they already have good defenders so might not feel the need to get him. If the price is right they might be interested otherwise he's not a priority.

Big clubs always make money available for top class players, the idea a world class player is available for not stupid money and clubs outside the PL wouldnt purchase because money is tight is just nonsense.

Barcelona haven't purchased a top class CB in donkeys, they supplement their squad with free transfers. There is also a fan tax at that club in that the expectation is to invest heavily in forwards. They signed Christiansen and Alonso for free on that basis previously and have done it with other players.

It's just an example of a club not having the finances but still making a signing they want.

I'm sorry, but the idea big boys aren't coming in for a 'world class' CB when there aren't many around as it is and not asking a stupid amount for him is because of money is just not true. The big clubs would be knocking down the door for a top class player at a reasonable price in any position.

Maybe there is plenty going on in the background so let's see what happens, or maybe clubs have seen his 'reliability' in club competition over the past few years and decided he's not for them....

I agree, if he is the player his fans think he is then there will be interest from the big 4 in Europe

The top 20 transfers this summer with fees paid and only 5 fall outside the PL, all of them attackers. One is Saudi, so we can ignore that one.

So the reality is there are a number of very decent CBs are lesser clubs who are also not being sought after in the window by European clubs, even if they can afford them. Thats fairly telling

My point about Inter is they are clearly a very good club despite the snobbery, twice CL finalists in the last 4 seasons, yeh terrible ambitions there.

If the reason big clubs are not buying Romero is his ability then surely they would be in the market for other CBs who are better? They are not and thats likely more telling about their priorities and need.

If Spurs were looking at a player who has only played 65 percent of games at their clubs, I doubt many of us would be wanting us to spend upwards of 40 million for him.

Buying clubs will be thinking the same, plus is seemingly wanting him gone asap.
