Djed Spence

People were saying things well before Djed had even kicked a ball with us though. "there must be a reason, it must be his attitude" under Conte was a regular call on here.

Without going through the history of the whole sport, I am sure there have been plenty of players in the world who have ignored their manager after a bad loss, especially a manager 2/3 of the support base absolutely hated so probably speaks more about what was happening in the club at the time, esp as a second player did the exact same thing at the same time
And those players who are disrespectful are frequently called out on it, it’s not a black, religious problem but an easy take on it.

Granit Xhaka, Hossam Ghaly, Spence etc have all rightly been called out for it for a discussion. So let’s not make a minority perception / motivations to be what the majority of decent people think, without twisting it into something else.

I’m sure the majority on this board of not all are not discussing Spence based on his race or religion but his perceived attitude as a person/individual.

I really like Spence because of his “attitude”
He always seems focussed to me
Reminds me of Benoit when he was here
Yes he is a black player
We also found out his a Muslim
None of them matter to me personally
I judge him on his effort which demonstrates his attitude… and imo he is rarely lacking on that front
I don’t like his shirt number on his face support thing. That looks odd to me.
Also he sometimes wears odd boots… again, not the best look
But him not smiling all the time, I see that as focus. Maybe I’m wrong

I never mentioned his race or religion, I haven't because you can't be sure it is, I will leave that to you and others to debate. There is no doubt Djed gets more focus than others, why that is I will again let you and others debate

But in the same token you cannot expect people to take to him like Harry Kane, Som etc.#

And thats fine, but people don't go round questioning the atitidue of everyone that isn't them two players, there is a difference

As abhorrent as Joey Barton is he too is entitled to his dim views, it’s about freedom of speech and accountability.

Its not Joey Bartons views that are his issue.............

If you want to take an example out of football. Look at Jofra Archer and Ben Ducketts criticisms. Ones seen as quiet and reserved. The other is seen as having an attitude.

Try and guess who gets which pass.

I compare Archer with Curran differing personalities but both over rated and bowl too many 4 balls an over, they both have a reputation built on getting wickets in hit and run cricket.
