Wish we could have found some way of making his loan permanent. With all the forward focused players, having Paulinha lock down the fort would have been more reassuring... Doubt if there was any player who played for just a year for us and had such an impact and hero status.

neither are a reflection of whether we are a 'big' club or not.

We basically can't afford to buy him on top of the moves we've already made and the remaining moves we intend on making.
That's fine, now we've fixed the midfield, next season shouldn't require such drastic transfers we might be able to make both more targeted moves and smaller moves like keeping a Palhinha.
