Great news about the Netherlands elimination.... maybe we can have VDV and JPVH back by the time we fly out down under!!!

There is a big part of me that doesn't want them back immediately. We have lads like Vuskovic, Takai, Phillips, Byfield, Dorrington all trying to impress RDZ. If our manager has his senior players, he will just focus on them.

I say give the Dutch guys a proper rest and let's have a look at the other options.

that's quite true.
when rdz started he could not take risks and the safest bet is to fully focus on the more experienced; he wouldn't have had the time to proprely check out the junior players except for those training with the first team

He may be our captain. At the very least captain so you want him on the tour.

To be fair, it is a very critical time tactically for RDZ and his players after the early pre-season conditioning work is done.

We do need to get off to a fast start in RDZ's new setup and any points lost in the first 5-6 games are massive at the end of the season.

Footballers contracts are collectively bargained agreements. The rules set by FIFA, Premier League, FA & PFA will all circumvent UK employment law.

How do you think transfer fees exist? Greggs don't need to pay Burger King a transfer fee is they want Doris the cleaner to come an work for them instead.

No, they are still entitled to 28 days 'holiday' as it does not supersede UK employment law. The employer gets to choose when those days are taken though, so a day off training after a match may presumably count.

They'll get their 3 weeks off. Any who want to come in earlier, can.

What date are we off to Australasia?

Edit: so our first game 26th July...so anyone knocked out in this round of the WC has a chance of going.
Even when we get back we have 3 weeks until Brentford in the PL.

And there is more than one flight to Australasia each day.

lol, VDV and PvH should go and lay on a beach in Thaliand before joining the guys.

Surely the 28 days are to be taken through out the year, not in one time? These are highly trained professionals they will have regimes they stick to even on holidays and should be in reasonable shape when returning. They will be tactical issues and familiarisation with new teammates along with getting legs going. I think we will be better prepared this season than we have been for a long time.
I never read too much into preseason, we've looked good before and not performed when sesson started, I don't like the faraway tours, there's too much travelling and distractions.
