Im struggling to get excited about this. Our biggest problem was creating goals and someone to put them in. So we go and Sign three defenders including Two Center Backs when we already have 4 on the books and two coming back from loans. Not including the 5 full backs we now have and Davies.

Its even more than that - we now have 10 CBs and 4 LBs. Yet only 1 fit winger.

If we do not address the problems at top by 1st Sept, then I will be upset. And even more annoyed if Lange is still here and no DOF.

I will hold judgement until then....but long may it continue.
Didn't we start well last summer then did nothing else?!

we scored 48 goals last season, thats enough to win 48 games, the issue was clearly how many goals we conceded

Let’s see who else we sign and also whether there’s a formation change or tactical shift introduced over summer by De Zerbi.
And I personally still have faith in Solanke to be the point of the spear for goal scoring.

I'm extremely dissapointed I didn't want us to sign anyone until we got rid of all the players considered not good enough and then the excitement of trying to replace them on deadline day and failing.

I think not having any players might be the next flex in football

no PSR issues, no players getting poached, no injuries

is there a downside?

I"ve said it in the other thread, I think we've massively overpaid, I hope he proves me wrong, he's ours now and gets the same support from me as the rest of them.
We have, no doubt about that, and in my view a totally unnecessary signing. BUT, let's be honest, this is the kind of transfer we have been demanding for years. He's got 12 months left on his contract, and if this was under Levy, we'd haggle for a while, then leave it, to see if Brighton become desperate. Then we'd come back last day of the window, long into the season and buy him for 39m, OR he'd signed a new contract or another club had signed him.

Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do, instead of just waiting until all the competitors have left.

We had a terrible defence as well, I think we conceded 60+ goals 3 seasons in a row.

Formation change? Don't think it will be too much different
Tactical change? Massively, in my opinion. The focus is clearly on ball players and especially those who pass the ball forwards.

RDZ got us to about 6th place in the form guide in his short tenure and in very difficult circumstances. I'm not yet confident we'll get CL but there is no question in my mind that we will not have another season like we've had for the last two. RDZ is a proper manager at the level we need. His work will be tireless and I have a feeling most of it will be done with the tracksuit on until he feels comfortable stepping away from the tactical piece of his role.

I'm also noticing that nobody is praising Lange for the impressive start to this summer. That's clearly not in vogue. It's more fun to point fingers at him for the ones we're selling.

Levy would have signed him end of July, for 12m and some impossible add ons.

The only ones demanding such signings don't understand our financial position.

We've got him, yay, but that two players we haven't got alongside him.

52m, for what is at this moment, the 6th most talented CB in our squad, and that might be unfair on Vuskovic.
