I just read that De Zerbi is now the oldest current manager in the PL... mental stat if true.. He's 46!
Out of interest, had you been drinking much when you read this?

Now we have survived (phew!) and the dust has settled on what was a horrid season, can we take a step back and look at RDZ's style and tactics, what he changed to get us out of our mess, what you saw that gave you hope for the new season plus potential weaknesses?
Happy if anyone can compare what they've seen so far under RDZ to the first things they saw under previous coaches, Poch and Conte in particular.
Thanks for the reply.I like the bloke and the cut of his jib 100%, I think its too small a sample TBH though, I think we looked more robust and cut out the mistakes but he suffered the same fate as Frank in that our attack is limited in ability - IMO, we never looked like putting a side away with a flurry, so I think to compare him with Poch and Conte we will need to see him with some better fire power. Hence why I keep saying unless we improve the personnel he will go the same way as those before him
Similar to conte he exudes personality which we need at spurs. It’s just the way the club is wired and we cannot have passive managersNow we have survived (phew!) and the dust has settled on what was a horrid season, can we take a step back and look at RDZ's style and tactics, what he changed to get us out of our mess, what you saw that gave you hope for the new season plus potential weaknesses?

That lack of firepower is so true and actually makes him look even better potentially...

I like the fact he has them what he has and dealt with it to get results… conte wanted it his way and only his way.
Poch is not comparable IMO because he was more of an unknown than any manager we have had in recent years (although he was great for us)
He showed more versatility IMO over a very short period than most do in a season
He organised the defence to keep the ball which Frank couldn’t do despite being much more defensuve
He also managed to get a tune out of a very limited midfield

Hard to tellThanks for the detail.
From what you agve seen, who do you think (of our current squad) will thrive under RDZ and who would you see as doomed to fail?
Yeh I can't see Richy or Solanke doing well under him because the breakdown in play or chances missed will mean he blows a fuseHard to tell
It’s been such a small sample right
But I think he will be ruthless
Any player who relent gave there the technical ability won’t get in
If I was speculating
Sarr would be one
Dragusin
Richy
The. It’s additional sales for income like Romero
I think Solanke will be fineYeh I can't see Richy or Solanke doing well under him because the breakdown in play or chances missed will mean he blows a fuse
Fine looking lad.
We haven't really seen how RDZ wants us to play yet, he already said he wasn't going to give players instructions he would usually in fear of over complicating.Hard to tell

100% different I’m sureWe haven't really seen how RDZ wants us to play yet, he already said he wasn't going to give players instructions he would usually in fear of over complicating.
We will likely setup differently to how we did those games at the end of this season....
He was only a goal scorer for that one season though. If he can match that performance level then he's a good option to have but so far it was one off and we don't know if he can achieve consistently.I think Solanke will be fine
He can do the hold up and also the scoring in the box like he did at Bournemouth
But we need to replace richy and bring in Lankshear
Well he did it the year they got promoted tooHe was only a goal scorer for that one season though. If he can match that performance level then he's a good option to have but so far it was one off and we don't know if he can achieve consistently.
