Kevin Danso

I also think his ability on the ball is really underrated by many - he’s very composed and quite progressive IMO.

Hopefully big Kev works on his finishing over the summer, as he had a couple of half chances from set-pieces yesterday and as we’ve seen from Le Woolwich Wanderers those goals from CBs are the key to success in this current climate of VARball.

Not sure if this opinion will go down well with some fans but here it is. He is not the most skillfull of CBs in our squad but what he does have is dedication to win as many balls he can do. He is a fighter and reminds me of Dawson the way he throws himself into every challenge.

I think this a great point. Our entire side was more comfortable with Kinsky. He is a footballer as well as a keeper.
But also, along as others have mentioned, Danso and VDV dovetail off each other better than the train wreck that is Romero and VDV.

But again, perhaps a Kinsky would give Romero and VDV more confidence to play together … just don’t know.

Wouldn’t mind seeing VDV as a marauding LB with Danso and Romero at the back, with Kinsky of course.

The trouble with Vic was the constant heart in the mouth moments...great stopper but Jesus he made everyone nervous... we don't need to be crapping ourselves every time our goalie has the ball at his feet.

I think certain players are better suited to other leagues. I think Romero and Vic would be the two as an example in our team. Richi would do decent playing in a slower league too.

Made VDV look a better player too
A balanced pairing makes both players look better. It's why I'm not on the one of Romero or VDV should go train. As a pairing it sounds good on paper but it's never looked truly solid when actually played together.

A "worse" starter in Danso might actually make a note compatible pairing with either of VDV and Romero or even an.other.

I said this when Romero went out. Some were bemoaning the loss of his passing range and I said Danso is a good passer also, not as flashy but he finds his man consistently and honestly he makes fewer risky passes that put us in danger.

Ultimately it shouldn't be the job of any CB to orchestrate the passing game. It's a nice bonus to have but something has gone wrong with the planning and structure if this is the case.
