***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea, Tue May 19th, 8.15pm, Stamford Bridge ***

I was meaning more because of the extent of our injuries. He literally can’t bring anyone on in attack except a Maddison that has been out for the entire season. We’re forced to play Kolo Muani on the right, there’s no Xavi, no Odobert, no Solanke. We have to play Richarlison the entire game. There’s obviously no Deki. And the geniuses sold Brennan for no reason. Jesus Christ I haven’t even mentioned Kudus.

I think if we could have made a couple more subs in attack rather than shifting Tel out of position and hoping Spence can bring the energy from left back, we may have been able to do something tonight.
Yeah I get you, someone suggested maybe bringing on Souza to the left, he had a great cameo against Liverpool and maybe he could have added some spark.

I do think De Zebi had opted to go for the more experienced players but maybe a random element might have been the way to go. I do get going for the experience guys but we needed someone who be direct.

We have so many average players. For a long time we’ve recruited so badly. Excuses for the club and ownership have been made by posters on here and social media.

Here we are. Universe works in weird ways. That lot lift the title as we sink into the championship.

So many individual errors.let alone the abysmal lack of quality. The lack of ability to do the basics.

Sad really. Levy and ENIC can poke their soulless entertainment bowl. They deserve relegation. The Supporters do not.

What a dreadful season.
Well said.
Been saying it for a long time. We have players who constantly misdirect, overhit or underhit passes.
Strikers who duff shots every time.
The recruitment has been abysmal for years, and the youth set up has been a complete waste of time and money. I cant think of anyone except Kane in the last 20 years who has come in and improved the team. Thats a damning statement considering how dire the first team is.

Watched the wrestling many times. There's a second clear foul as Richy is being held and prevented from getting back onto the pitch at the backpost ( that's if the one on VDV happened before ball was in play). Atwell whistles once ball has reached middle of the box. VAR should've checked two potential fouls. Richys continued happening as ball was in play...

Anyway, no help to us now of course...

Sound doesn't travel anywhere near as fast as light and is often delayed in comparison to tv images...
In fairness I thought he blew before it was in play. But VAR specifically said the offence was before the ball was in play. Which could have been looked at in more detail and given either way.

Sure, just saying you can't make assumptions based on how it happened on TV :)....

I don't understand why a ref stops play before a corner to warn players not to foul. They should fudging know that already! If they do commit a foul, punish them and the team properly like you would in literally every other situation.

(of course, in this case the ball was actually in play anyway)

Anyway, it could be worse. I mean it’s not as if Arsen…

Oh.

On the upside, at least we can claim an assist for Woolwich winning the title 🤝 as we gifted them 6 points and +8 nett GD advantage as Fraudiola only managed to get 1 point from our injury ravaged shambles of a team this season 😳

Suffering West Ham fan here in peace. We have quite a bit in common at the mo really, two crap squads and owners who prefer to study the balance sheet and don't give a toss about the team sheet. At least you lot have a plush home and don't rent off the council. We are on the way down in more ways than one, had we scraped another point then I think the pressure on your lot would be too great but avoiding a loss on Sunday is straightforward enough . To be honest, I don't care if we do go down anymore, I thought the VAR decision against Arsenal was bad enough, multiple infringements on our players after the ball was in play before their keeper was fouled. Call me simple but 30 years of watching the game, the first foul should be blown up. If VAR is here to ruin what used to be a spectator sport then why the f**k was it not utilised last night? The laws of the game are being rewritten under our noses to the point where a stonewall red card and penalty are dismissed. That decision last night was the final straw for me, this is not sport. I accepted our fate months ago, genuinely looking forward to getting out of the PL so I can enjoy my football again. COYS

I’m very pessimistic this morning tbh. West Ham have been thrown a few lifelines at this stage and you’d think they’ll eventually grab one. As for us it feels like we’re destined to go down. It’s hard to argue that we don’t deserve it based on how we’ve stank the place out over the past 2 seasons. I feel sorry for RDZ as he’s only been here 5 minutes but his name will be on it. The main culprits have already gone. Those who remain need to consider their positions on Monday morning.

Ditto. We’ve spurned chances to put it to bed and now have 1 point from the last 6 - and two fairly mediocre performances in gaining that.

West Ham have been good at home of late, only losing to Arsenal.

I have a very bad feeling.

Anyhow, off into a staff room full of Arsenal fans. (I think I’ll sit bedside the Southampton season ticket holder this morning.)

I think we will stay up, I think we will at least get a draw (we have drawn both our home games under RDZ to teams of a similar standard of Everton) and not totally convinced West Ham will even win their game. That aside, I agree with everything you say....

I understand the feelings you have, but I'd say this is pretty typical of a relegation battle and exactly why we're in it. Any team that puts together a run gets out of trouble quickly (Leeds, Forest) and those who can't are constantly relying on the other team's results.

I maybe stating the obvious there...

It's just odd, but it's all on the refs for allowing corners to turn into a wrestling competition. They should've tried to enforce the rules correctly and consistently from the start instead.

Think of it that way: would you rather be in our situation or in West Ham's? Out of the six possible results on Sunday, there's only one that leads to West Ham staying up. We might blow it - and I still think it would be a disaster for the club - but I've made my peace. When you play Russian roulette long enough, you stop caring about the consequences (at least, that's what they say... I've never played Russian roulette and I doubt that's the kind of game you can play for too long anyway).

Absolutely this. I still believe we're more than capable of messing it up, but I'd rather be in our shoes than West Ham's.
