Interim manager thread 2.0

I've always thought there were 2 major parts to the Greenwood thing. There was the well publicised legal case that ended up with him not being convicted of anything. Then more importantly there was the decisions that one of the biggest football clubs in the world took over their player. We should not dismiss the latter as insignificant. In some ways Utd's actions and treatment of the player holds more weight with me.

Absolutely bled dry by De Zerbi...I guess we are just balancing what that costs Vs relegation.

And they were raking thru DLs stint looking for financial mismanagement. Jokers.

It's not an 'argument'. It's a stated opinion. And if you find my opinion flawed, then so be it.

With regards to what I can, and cannot 'truthfully' do with regards to cake and eating it, etc, I have zero concerns about what folks like you would think if I did express happiness at Spurs winning something. Frankly, your opinions on MY opinions (and potential actions) are of no importance to me personally. I will do what I want, comfortable in myself as I do so (or unless corrected by someone I know and respect).

There just isn’t a compelling realistic option out there right now. Every name being raised has its detractors and question marks.

Had they sacked the hapless Frank back in November when they should have done then the pool of managers to choose from would have been better, you could even try and prize someone away from another job at that stage of the season knowing they’d have an upcoming transfer window as well.

It's a really good overview. On the pod we found ourselved looking back at some of the awful reffing decisions Tudor endured, particularly the disallowed Muani equaliser against the Goons. If that goal stands (as it should've) he might still be around and we might be well clear of trouble. That poor bloke got (as Milo called it) 'The Full Tottenham' in terms of experiences!

He did get that shocking ref decision vs Arsenal but, bloody hell, he was mostly the master of his own demise. In a league as tight as the PL you cannot ship as many goals as we did under Tudor and hope to put enough points on the board. PL teams these days are all about not losing first. A lesson we have not yet learnt and why I’m still not confident we will survive relegation.

I used to love Tudor as a player, and followed him somewhat when he went into management. It should have worked, his ethic for running/building a strong foundation while still having attacking intent worked at every other club (at least initially) and the only thing I had noticed was while he was adaptable his plan B followed his plan A so after awhile results became harder.

How we managed to give him so much bad luck baffles me, the injuries we knew, but the ref decisions, the pure luck on some of the goals conceded and not scored…crazy.

I still think he was the best choice to stay, the performances was there or there abouts but the results didn’t match but was certainly more potential in those games then what TF produced - let’s see what the next guy does, but I have a feeling it will more of the same, or likely less

And yet gained fewer points in his five PL games than TF achieved in his last five.
 
All these coaches are decent. Happy with De Zerbi.

But it takes time to figure a side, system and refine issues that crop up in games. We don’t have that luxury. Somehow need points now.
 
i thought the Guardian article was pretty poor. Some good points but no detail to back up the overview. No mention of injuries, no mention of causes of decline, such as Levy working without a Director of Football and trying to do it all himself...no mention of the shocking refereeing decisions we've had etc. If I was marking it as an essay, I'd say "Promising but must try harder!"

That's fair enough, especially regarding decisions and as I mentioned elsewhere he was missing his right hand man due to work permit issues which was a big loss.

But, he was bought in for immediate impact and 5 games is a fair amount of games to judge that - We are in a results business at this moment now more than ever and 1 point from 15 was just a terrible return for what was required. And with what personal tragedy occurred it was most definitely for the best.

I think this squad is also better suited to de Zebri, just a question of whether there is enough time to implement his methods....

Tudor was a very risky choice given his lack of previous experience in this league. Plus he landed when we were already in a relegation battle and had very little time to clean up the mess left over after Thomas Frank's disastrous management. In contrast TF started on the same points as everyone else and had a full pre-season followed by 37 games to improve the team and imprint his “style” (dreadful, cowardly football like something you’d see from a poor third division team).
So the comparison is not really relevant.
