The Game Is About Glory Podcast

van de Pen
Season 6 - Episode 38

Where do we go from here? Steff, Milo and Ram discuss our loss to Crystal Palace and try to sort through the turbulence, turmoil and trauma of Tottenham Hotspur right now. How are we personally dealing with this? And with 9 games to go, what we would do.

Rich Rewards
Season 6 - Episode 39

Steff and Milo find hope, spirit, and fight after a battling draw at Anfield. They'll also get into some green shoots from the Wanda earlier in the week, as well as calling out the 'football media industry' and their distasteful and unhelpful way of piling misery into our eyes and ears! Grab this hopium and soar (or something like that)!

Another great listen for my morning walk. It was great to watch us fight against an inept liverpool at anfield for that draw - so many things to talk about! I had to watch it on Spursplay as it is late night where i am, and i am getting on a bit (a year and couple of months behind @thfcsteff - a belated Happy Birthday!)

Souza had a great shot on 11 minutes - what a move! I miss Sarr, we all miss him! Him and Gray (what a player! Has our club at heart, clearly) working and playing so well in the middle. Vic was at fault for that freekick (which wasnt one) but he is otherwise a great shotstopper

On Tudor, he needed to get a momentum shift and perhaps it was just that at anfield. I like that he doesn't bother with all the outside mass and social media - too much noise! And so much drivel written on and about him and the lads - as you said, we have no real idea, as fans we project, and we act so entitled; but some things are clear because time has shown them to be true, i.e. club recruitment! Challenge on all fronts? Let's build a team properly firat shall we, with a consistent and clear vision

Let's see what we can do at home v atletico, but, maybe, more importantly, how we do against forest. We Must make White Hart Lane a fortress, and as fans give full voice and support! I love our away fans, they sang so loudly at anfield! Real pride and passion there

As ever, thank you for your views mate

Just to say, we will be a day behind with this week's pod, meaning you can soak in it tomorrow (Monday) late or first thing Tuesday for the sane.

I'm presuming you all needed some time pre-recording to either...

a) meditate
b) self-medicate
c) go to the local rage room and break brick

Honestly enjoy the level tone of the podcast and kudos to you all for being able to maintain that through extraordinarily bad times. Can you share your secrets with us all for the sake of our sanity and general well-being?!!

Momentum Stalled
Season 6 - Episode 40

After a positive week, Steff, Milo and Gareth, chat about us coming down to ground with a bump against Nottingham Forest. We try to find some rational perspectives amidst the storms of emotion post-match, and with 7 games and 21 points left to play for, now more than ever, it is time to believe in Audere est Facere because the alternative won't help us!

Tudor Leaves
Season 6 - Episode 41

Steff, Milo and Gareth discuss yet another shuffle in the Tottenham managerial merry-go-round as Igor Tudor and the club part ways. What's next? Who's next? Who knows? We talk through some of the rumours, as well as pondering whether THFC are an A24 folk-horror football movie nightmare come to life...

Top 3 A24 films @thfcsteff ?? They don’t have to relate to our great club!

Nicely done chaps. I also feel weirdly protective over Tudor and feel he’s a good man that does deserve some level of respect.

I just heard Kevin Nolan on a podcast mention that Tudors' main right hand man that has been with him at the other clubs he succeeded in keeping up couldn't join him here due to not getting a work permit.

Shades of Nuno who also couldn't bring his staff here with him. All the best to him and his family at this difficult time...

Ohhhhh very tough... Under The Skin, The Witch, The Zone of Interest, Lamb, Men, St Maud, Midsommer...

On the non-horror side, Marty Supreme, The Brutalist, The Lighthouse (potentially horror of course, but...), Uncut Gems, Mid 90s...then there's Supersonic, Amy...

A film I hated at the time but want to revisit is Spring Breakers. Korine is divisive for sure but Gummo was something else...

I am missing many here; I think A24 is a remarkable studio...

Agreed. You’ve covered most of them there - what variety! - and love the Black Phillip reference on the pod!

I’d throw in Enemy, Moonlight, Good Time, Aftersun, Talk To Me, Love Lies Bleeding and Bring Her Back for good measure…
