***OMT Tottenham Hotspur Football Club v Nottingham Forest***

I've watched plenty of them thanks, they're energetic but from a footballing perspective I simply dont agree with you.

We're at the business end of the season and they are struggling to score goals, something that historically doesn't bode well when it comes to relegation and were absolutely dire yesterday.

Considering how brick we perceive ourselves to be I don't see how a team a whole 3 points above are much different....

They’re scrappers and the club is used to being in the position that they are. Neither is true of us.

They’ll finish above us.

Romero is an arsehole. Had the option to lay the ball back, loses it, falls to the ground and takes ages to get back in position. Him being captain is a joke

I am a fan of his and I have to say, I was scrambling to think of reasons why he did that (the best I could find was perhaps he was someone else had covered for him and hung up there for a bit? Still not great is it, you want to see him busting a gut there and showing up)...

I slept my way through their draw with Brentford last night, and can assure you that at the moment they are not. We, however, are even worse than them, so what does it matter. They at least defended fairly well.
Me too but thats all conquering Brentford under Andrews.......

There are good for them and they have structure.....

We're going down, aren't we?

It isn’t over until the fat lady sings and so on. We got a draw at Liverpool, so we should be able to get something out of all the the other games we think we aren’t getting anything from. We’re that backwards.

Perhaps a new interim in, get some luck in a game for once, get Maddison back from injury, anything could create an unexpected spark. Win a game out of nowhere, maybe get some momentum. Still some games left, and we’re somehow still not in the bottom three.

Our fans are deluded and desperate not to accept the truth about our mediocrity.

Beating Athletico didn't mean brick as they knew they just had to not lose by 3. The confidence emanating after that result was ridiculous. It's like we aren't actually watching ourselves play over the last 2 years. 🤣

It's called hopium. And given how utterly s hit we've been all season, there is nothing 'ridiculous' about trying to find a strand of belief to grab and nurture into a tree of strength.

Seeing a lot of “well what was the point” and “that’s how they repay us” posts on SM after today.

Thing is, we need to continue to do it. Crowd were excellent today all game IMO. Yeah, it’s an absolute gut punch. But all the people saying “we’re down, it’s done”. We need to be better than that as a fan base. We aren’t even bottom 3 yet. Much worse situations have been turned around with much worse squads. As a fan base, we need to continue to roar these boys on. If we go down, that’s for the board and players to explain and live with.

Everyone needs to show some backbone and resilience right now. Fans included.

Well said. VERY well said!

Of course that's true but fudge me 0-3 at home in the most pivotal game remaining- they aren't making it easy for us

There is when it's built a false premise.

The Athletico game showed these players can beat a top Spanish team in the equivalent of a dead rubber.

This is a relegation scrap in probably the most competitive team in the world - it's a very different set of skills.

This one is a real kick in the teeth after two good performances and results. Refereeing didn't help either - again. Don't know what to say, except that we can't let our heads drop. Being pessimistic won't protect us if the worst happen. We have to keep the faith. The situation is dire but it's not over yet. A good run of results - unlikely as it may seem at the moment - is all we need to get out of this mess.

It was one of those classic counter attacking games that smaller teams dream of. Similar under Frank, we have the better players (slightly), control the game, but just concede on the break too easily. Same script with Frank. Struggling to score over various games we commit more, dominate much of the early game, then get done on the break.

The team is not set defensively because we’re spending the game attacking.

First goal was crucial and against us. We almost equalised right away but for a decent save. Then we’re chasing pushing even more and exposed. Second half heads dropped and tiredness showed.

Frustrating thing is if we could just get a few wins and get into a habit of playing and winning, there is potential in the team.

I have been saying this for ages and initially when i was saying that Romero and VDV were poor people were laughing at me. Just because Romero can ping a pass and VDV can run fast up the pitch with a ball doesn't make them good CBs. Neither are good defenders. Porro is a converted wing back and both Spence and Udogie started out as wing-backs too.

NONE of our backline's strengths lies in basic one-on-one defending, positioning, marking, ariel duals.

You go into midfield you run into the same problem: none of our midfielders are brilliant passers bar Maddison who hasn't seen the light of day this season.

And up top, none of our forward's strengths are end product/scoring.

So you have an ENTIRE SQUAD built right, which is a fudging failure upstairs BTW, an ENTIRE SQUAD, who are NOT good at the BASICS.

Our players have strengths, right. Some of them will be being watched by other clubs. Many will get good moves this summer if the worst happens.

But we have defenders that aren't great at defending, midfielders that aren't great at passing and forwards that aren't great at scoring.

Its a lethal combination. Whatever the individual attributes of our players, as a collective, as a team, its been a disasterclass for 2 years.

Much longer.
We were signing the likes of Gedson (was that his name?) under Mourinho.

Scary times lads but it’s no more than we deserve. 0-3 at home is very telling I’m afraid no fight no desire and we face a massive task now as there is no confidence anywhere

Sorry, I don't understand what you are talking about.

They really aren’t. I was sure we’d turned a corner and with all the good feeling today, I was certain we’d win. There was that little nagging voice saying “it’s Spurs, they’ll fudge it” but I ignored it because I really and truly thought we’d broken the cycle and the players would show their quality today. I certainly didn’t see a 3 goal thumping coming in a million years.

Regardless of what happens, I think the fan base should let the club know just how fudging unhappy we are after the Everton game. Whether that’s a protest or we just hurl abuse at them in the stadium or whatever. But until we’re mathematically down, I do believe we have a duty as fans to get behind whatever bunch of misfits take the pitch for us. If we go down, let the players and board live with the stain of that cataclysmic underachievement on their consciences and CVs. As fans, we should be able to say we did what we could.

If we’re to go down, I’d much rather go down that way.

Our transfer policy has been a shambles for a long long time yes, but i'm really talking about where we've ultimately landed, with a squad that struggles to perform to a standard to maintain Premier League football: not being able to defend and not being able to score...or regularly create clear chances.
