OMT - Fulham vs Tottenham Hotspur

GHod we need to win this. We need goals. We need a win. We need something. The players we have available need to fight for it. Seems Tudor is down on 3 at the back. So we need players up front to counter that.

----------------Vicario--------------------
-------Danso -- Dragusin -- VDV -------
Porro------------------------------Spence
----------------Paulinha-------------------
-------Gallagher---------Simons---------
------------Solanke - Muani--------------

What's with these formations? Thought Tudor prefers 3-4-3?
If so, my team would be:
‐--------------------------Vicario-----------------------
---------Gray-----------Danso--------Van de Ven
Porro------Palhinha------Gallagher-----Souza
---------Xavi-----------Solanke--------------Muani
Subs:
Kinski, Draguisin, Spence, Sarr, Bissouma, Tel, Richarlison, LWB, A.N.Other.
Was tempted to put Spence on the left but prefer the natural side of Souza.
1-2 Muani, Solanke

Every game should be very hard fought and can go either way.

I just watched Wolves beat Villa.

Villa were flying into 3rd, then fat arse McGinn got injured and their form has gone down the toilet.

Terrifying. We’re in the deepest of bricks. We badly need to see some fight today.

Who’d have thought that we’d actually be in an even worse PL predicament than we were 12 months ago!

They’ve lost 4 out of their last 6.
…So you’re saying there’s a chance…

Ossie’s Dream🤞
  • After winning seven consecutive away league games against Fulham between 2010 and 2023, Spurs have now lost their last two at Craven Cottage by an aggregate score of 5-0.
  • Fulham have won three of their last four Premier League games against Spurs (D1), as many as they had in their previous 26 (D6 L17).
  • Fulham are looking to complete the league double over Spurs for just the second time in their history, after the 2003-04 Premier League campaign.
  • Tottenham are winless in their last nine Premier League matches (D4 L5) – only once have they gone 10 without victory, doing so between January and March 1994 under Osvaldo Ardiles.
  • Tottenham Hotspur are the only side in the Premier League without a victory in 2026 so far, failing to win any of their nine matches (D4 L5). It’s just the fourth time they’ve gone through January and February without a league win, along with 1935 (7 games), 1994 (7) and 1999 (6).

I thought he was supposed to be flexible and adapt to the strengths of the players we have?

3 at the back doesn't any of our players, except maybe Romero. We also can't afford to concede the midfield, or not press from the front, in a game we need to win (not draw)

So help me, we need to get back to basics and fight, scrap, muscle.
I think I'd go 4-4-2

Vic

Porro
Danso
VdV
Silva (correction - SOUZA)

Gray
Gallagher
Palhinha
Spence

Solanke
Richarlison

Subs: Kinsky, Tel, Simons, Muani, Sarr, etc...

This would not be pretty, but IF we are struggling as much as Tudor suggests this allows a simple reset, plus in terms of subs it makes things a little more like for like straightforward.

Love Xavi but would try something a bit more muscular and industrial to start things here, and bring him on with Tel second-half...

You could also go with a diamond

Vic

Porro
Danso
VdV
Silva (correction - SOUZA)

Palhinha at base of diamond, Gray and Gallagher engine room, Xavi at tip.

Muani
Richy

Narrow with any width coming from either Porro or Silva pushing on. Dom as sub here.
I really think Richy needs to start as he's an aggressor!

Most formations just overbalance us with workhorse CMs. 4-4-2 because we don't have any fit wingers, and 4-3-3 lends to playing an industrious middle trio too.

I think we have to got 4-2-3-1. Have Gray as one of the two and Simons in the middle of the 3. It's what actually worked in our best performances this season (e.g. Dortmund)
