OMT *** Tottenham Hotspur v woolwich *** 22.2.26

And just 8 wins in the past 38 PL games 😳 We’ve been so bad for so long that even promoted teams have picked up more points than us (despite playing 11 fewer PL fixtures!) and only Wolves plus Burnley have inferior goal difference 🫣

Unreal. We really are on course for relegation. The only thing keeping me positive right now is West Ham’s fixture list. Still gutted about yesterday.

Simons will be a much better player than Eze when he's his age. But that doesn't help us now, granted.

Our squad building is so shambolic that should Simons fulfil his immense potential he’ll have moved to a club capable of matching his ambition to win league titles long before our bungling transfer committee take out another loan and sign some attackers with the nous to link up with him.

Either that or we’ll run him into the ground until he suffers a long term injury, like has occurred with Kulusevski and Maddison.

Can't be surprised that we were second best. Thought we showed good fight and intensity in the first half, after the delay for ref tech issues at least. Lucky to go into half time even, but really needed a bit more luck to make sure the game state got/stayed uncomfortable for them. Like the disallowed second Muani goal being allowed.

Second half and after their third we struggled to impose ourselves in any real way.

Way to early to say anything on Tudor, really difficult first game in charge. Thought he got some answers to some questions and hopefully better times to come.

All I can hear o the tv is woolwich fans singing.
Need more from our own now more than ever.

I was in south-east corner and we heard absolutely feck all from their away section (still feels weird that they moved that into opposite corner from Park Lane at nWHL) until Eze scored his customary brace

Even when we were 1-3 down there was still plenty of singing and it was only when Raya managed to scoop Richarlson’s shot off the goal-line that everyone around me realised it was going to be yet another one of those days and the exodus began; thankfully not accompanied by the booing like at end of Saudi Sportswashing Machine plus Wet Spam matches at least and people did turn around to applaud the players whilst we were queueing for exits after final whistle.

Hopefully some more players returning from injuries in the not too distant future. A full week off now until the Fulham game and then Palace, will be very different and on paper easier games than the one we just had.

Think Tudor will turn this around and get us to safety (not saying there's not a risk). Baptism in fire over and done with, now a chance to get going.

Turned it off at 3-1 as I couldn’t stand watching their smug players and fans gloating, especially Eze and Gabriel. Has Eze got the most punchable smile in footbal?! How did we play for the last half an hour? Pains me to say that Arsenal turned up and were on it but we just did not turn up IMO for such a big game that’s criminal.

We continued to be solidly second best. Had a chance saved off the line from a Richarlison finish after good work from Spence towards the end at 1-3, could have made things interesting had that gone in. Not that we deserved it.

Crowd were good yesterday I thought. It was loud first half even when we couldn’t get the ball. Second half, the crowd kept singing but there wasn’t anything to hang on to. The Pahlinha tackle in the middle of the pitch got a massive reaction but we spent so much time chasing the ball or pinned back, the crowd couldn’t get proper into it. That’s not lack of support either, it’s just nervous energy that they were gonna score.

A word on the half time chat. I usually pay little attention to them. It was beautiful and a bit sad with Dele. The Alli song was belted out, there was so much affection going both ways. However, it was sad because you see such unrealised talent and he was a guy that more than once said “you guys are my family” which hinted at a man just wanting to be loved. Was great to see him though.

Hope your right. They are playing well and showing they are up for it. Unlike us .
I thought we looked up for it yesterday. We just weren't good enough to really compete. We were second best by a long distance, but the fight and intensity for me was there.

We're severely disjointed mainly because of injuries and imo as a result of having spent most of this season not working on having an attacking game of our own outside of set pieces. We tried to make up for that with effort and fight, but up against a team who themselves were also very much up for it that's not enough to make up for the difference in quality.

We were massively outclassed yesterday.

What worries me is that they seemed more up for it and fresher than us. I’m pretty sure they’d played THREE times since our last game.

Having now seen back our second goal I have to say that yet again the officials were appalling. I thought they were poor all game actually. Several times their defenders played the man rather than the ball and every time the ref allowed it. Meanwhile every time Saka fell over it was FK.

But it’s the key decisions in key moments that are killing us. We had the hilarity of Eze’s offside goal being given in the away match (to make it 2-0) and now today that abomination of a decision by Bankes to keep the score at 1-2.

I’m not saying that either decision would’ve made a difference (it’s actually fairly unlikely) but the simple facts are that ‘goals change games’ and the officials are consistently putting us on the wrong side of these decisions. Contrast the disallowed goal yesterday with Ekitike pushing Romero for Liverpool’s winner and I think it shows a lot. Abysmal as we are, it’s simply impossible to contend with having to ‘beat’ the officials as well.

I’m amazed how many people think there’s no chance that we can go down.

The next 6 are awful for West Ham, you could see them not picking up a win

We have to get a buffer in this period of time.
They will get some points from those games, I’m just hoping they don’t pick up any wins (though one win wouldn’t surprise me). Nuno has them well organised and they are playing for the manager and the shirt. Something our team haven’t done this season.

as i thought, we might be able to fight (with a bit of luck thrown in) in the first half, but with so many injuries igor would need a miracle to pull any sort of positive result in this game - or any game till the others come back

it's all a shambles

I have a feeling they will beat Liverpool. We HAVE to beat Fulham/Palace.

If we don’t I think the league finishes;

16. West Ham
17. Forest
18. Us

Your 100% right. We do have a bias going on against us for some unknown reason. We see it constantly. A wrong decision can change the whole game.

More angry about our dissalowed goal this morning then I was yesterday. Don't get me wrong I know we were terrible but if that goes level at that point yesterday anything could happen.

Liverpool scored a goal against us earlier in the season with a far more blatant push than the one we saw yesterday and of course the goal stood. There is no consistency with the officiaring whatsoever.

I didn't see any of the after match reaction but did any of ours mention that goal in the post match interviews ? If not then they should have. Any other big team would. Make it very loud. Constantly on the wrong end of decisions. Still not had a penalty in the league this season.
