Interim Manager Discussion

Would you have these as interim manager to finish the season?

  • John Heitinga

  • Current Coach (Lewis, Cochrane, Burnett, Carr)

  • Ryan Mason

  • Jurgen Klinsmann

  • Chris Hughton

  • Brendan Rodgers

  • Edin Trzic

  • Gareth Southgate

  • Former Manager Hoddle/Jol/Redknapp/Sherwood

  • Stick with Frank no matter what

Does
You'd have thought Dyche would be a solid choice and keep us out of trouble on paper. He's sort of the modern day Allardyce or Pulis. However, given the rumours of player discontent with the limitations of Frank's football, it wouldn't seem a great fit.

So we need someone who will instill discipline, plays good football, will make us hard to beat and is available on a short term basis...
Doesnt nt need to install discipline or need to play good football. We need 3/4 wins. If that's just telling players how good they are and just run about a bit; fine with me.

I think the most obvious answer there is that they were lying to Frank - there was no chance his position as manager was anywhere near safe going into that game....
Absolutely.

I still have a lot of respect for Frank. If he genuinely thought his job was safe at this point I'd have slightly less respect for him. Surely he must have known that he was hanging on by a thread for a while.

I am sure it was an answer given to the contrary of the alternative which would have been "yeh I expect to be sacked tomorrow"

Sean Dyche went down the middle:

"The owner has been fair to me, without a shadow of a doubt," Dyche said.

"If anyone chooses to change in football now, that's their decision. We've all seen it."

(RBTL he’s saying “yeh I expect to be sacked tomorrow”)

Do we think we haven’t announced someone because:

A.) We’re currently in discussions with them, sorting out the finer details and working out a plan.

Or

B.) We sacked Frank without a clue who was next and are currently scrambling to see who is available and can’t work out why David appears number isn’t connecting.
C) it's only been two days

It's barely been 24 hours....

That’s too long. Frank had been on the brink for two months. They should have lined up someone to take over immediately to utilise the 12 day game break fully.

Whether that’s an interim until the summer or permanent manager.

I agree if they are only just trying to figure out what they want to do manager wise.

But we don't know anything or have heard anything, that doesn't mean things aren't more advanced in reality....

This is true but our form as a club suggests that someone is making tea right now, someone is shuffling some documents, someone is staring out into the stadium picking his nose and someone else writing emails with to generic emails to impossible targets like carloancelotti2108@lyahoomail.co.nz

Agreed. And this is a huge decision. Getting this wrong could mean relegation. Take a day or two extra and try to get it right, try to get the best candidate even if difficult.

Reporting that it was like Groundhog day in meetings about sacking Frank for months. I'm sure someone has thought about who a good replacement could be before the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game.
