OMT Spurs vs Geordies 7.30 Tuesday 10th Feb

Xavi would be developing nicely with quality around him.

The 2 French lads - I’m sorry they just aren’t good enough. They aren’t even the quality of a Summerville who is quicker, a better dribbler and a better finisher than both of them. Would have taken no scouting at all as he was ripping it up in the Championship. I’m not saying we should have signed him, but we should have signed at least him. We managed to burn 60m on such low quality.

Dom is fine. Not amazing but top half standard.

Other than that we have nothing.

I'm not going to say we were good tonight, it was really messy most of the game

but, the mistake for the first goal was schoolboy stuff, and we should have had a pen

again, its points if we don't make dumb mistakes and get the correct officiating

Forest at home
Wolves away
Leeds at home

That's our must wins.

Chelski, Villa, Liverpool and Arsenal - forget about getting anything there.

Fulham away
Palace at home
Sunderland away
Brighton at home
Everton at home

We probably need one win, maybe two from those as well.

This season could end with the squeeky bum time of the centrury, with us needing to beat Everton at home to stay up.
I think there are some very winnable games there but we need someone in now who can really get into the heads of these players.

We shouldn't be relying on that to win at home against a Saudi Sportswashing Machine team with no discernable talent in it.

the thing about that statement is that we're not based on the squad, pound for pound we have a better side than 5 or 6 in the bottom half. What amazes me is we're just not well coached. The system, the approach, the desire, its not there and the manager who now has 8 other ex Brentford staff here looks lost - as do the coaches.

Oh yes, totally agree, we do have a better squad (definitely so if all available), then all of the bottom 6, but we are not certainly playing like.

Something is missing, I am not clever enough to point out exactly what it is thats going wrong, but something definitely. Hopefully, all it needs is a new face, a lucky manager (because we need some good fortune to go our way), just something to create a spark, a bit of belief, a confidence boost

Odobert will be good with time and good coaching. He can play number 10 too. Tel I'm afraid not so sure. Agree about Xavi.

I've watched with disbelief this evening, as Toon were there for the taking - they are in crisis, their manager is being questioned, but you know what Howe would get a tune out of our lot, compared to what we saw tonight.

I just don't understand what we are.

Are we a resolute and hard to beat side? Nope.
Are we bossing the middle of the park and working to get goals of turnovers? Nope.
Are we aggressive up top with a desire to blow teams away? Nope.
Are we a counter attacking team? Nope.
Are we pressing as a team to get the ball back? Nope.
Are we playing to our strengths and playing balls in behind for the pace of Odobert, Solanke and Tel? Nope.

I am very very against knee jerk decisions in this game - its never a good idea to let emotion rule your decisions. But enough is now enough - this is possibly just a misalignment of club and manager, but its got to be time to try something else.

Don’t disagree (on Odo), but he should be playing League Cup and FA Cup and 70 mins onwards in League matches beneath an established wide forward (and preferably in his best position which is left).

We CHOSE not to sign an established left forward when Son left, instead signing two similar junior players. It’s such poor work from the recruitment team.

They had 10 corners in the first half, loads of situations, crosses. Get enough of those situations and ultimately a mistake will happen. It was also never a penalty.

We were clueless on the ball in the first half. As we have been most season.

I think they let us play a bit at 1-0 up. As soon as we scored, they helped themselves to another goal.
