****Tottenham Hotspur v Man Utd********* OMT Official

I think he's overrated massively on here in terms of his defensive qualities no doubt but I still just don't think that's a red. I wouldn't even if it had gone the other way around. If I'm kicking a ball my leg has to go somewhere, there's needs to be some acceptance that sometimes when you kick a ball another players leg may well either in the way or may be where the kicking leg ends up.
Most players manage to not follow through like he did weekly in the PL, I do not believe he did not try and do him with a follow through

Yes that’s the one I was referring to. That clip is very on brand and indicative of both players, Romero with a brainless and dirty tackle and Richarlison feigning injury with little contact.

But "it's always him".

He is a liability, and his ability doesn't outweigh it

Unfortunately because the transfer committee still haven’t purchased a midfielder with a decent range of passing we remain dependent upon Romero to play those line breaking passes from deep, well unless we waste Simons talent when he should really be playing further up the pitch.

It’s aggresive but it’s a red because it’s Romero. A nice English player does that and it’s a yellow.

You do see these challenges fairly often tbh and usually the players aren't given reds. Occasionally they are and I'll always say I don't believe they should be a red, whether that's for or against Spurs.

I think that's completely accurate....but often times Romero goes in with extra unnecessary force. It's part of his tough guy persona (which I'm happy with btw) and this type of tackle and a red is a negative consequence.

The self inflicted problem is that it peaks the officials interest, in that yes he passes the test that he got the ball and his foot was low BUT solely due to HIMSELF he fails the unnecessary force and endangering an opponent element

Would you go as far as to call him a dirty player? I think if he played for any other team it would be unanimous.

I've been very impressed with MNU.

They were always working in 3's i.e. we could get the ball and jink inside past a player and even beat a second player but there was always a 3rd player biting in.

And I'm not talking about someone trying to go on a dribble, I mean whenever someone received the ball they had a player in their face and if they jink around them and dart past another, they got crunched by number 3.

PS. That was DEFINITELY a red card for Romero. If you can read body language and understand physics and understand it was Romero versus a Brazilian, you can see that Romero gives it 10% extra and really steams into that tackle to leave his full body weight and studs into Casemiro.

PPS. So we lose Romero for 4 games and now Udogie is out, FML we'll be down to 5 a side soon.
