Conversely, with a better defender back there we would likely have conceded fewer.

True... perhaps we should cash in on him and Romero then parlay that into signing Senesi (who can pass it from the back like Cuti) to play alongside Danso...

CB is one of the areas of the squad we're looking "sorted". Two quality first choice players, good cover. Really talented youngsters looking 1-2 years away from stepping up.

I'd be really careful making changes there. Sure, we could cash in, bring someone really good in for less, have money to spend elsewhere. Often it doesn't work out like that though. Misses in the transfer market are quite common.

Fix what we need to fix, keep what works would be my approach.

When you only create chances from set pieces or swinging in crosses as a secondary play after a set piece it is extremely likely that your centre backs will be your primary goal scorers.

The way the manager sets us up doesn’t lend itself to chance creation by or for our forwards. Our chance creation only really comes direct from crosses or winning the second ball after the opposition partly clear one of our crosses.
