Australia names same squad for Brisbane no Cummings

I reckon had we beaten them Cummings would have played, apparently he was looking really good and ahead of schedule before the first test.

But they've seen how brick we are and figured don't need to rush him back and risk anything....

Yeah he has travelled with the team so I guess if they change their minds they can.

the fact Australia have played 14 pink ball tests & only lost one against the west indies at the Gabba says we will struggle in the 2nd test but fingers crossed we play cricket & not T20 & we might just have a chance.

England team for second Ashes Test: Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (captain), Jamie Smith (wk), Will Jacks, Gus Atkinson, Brydon Carse, Jofra Archer.

Is jacks a spinner or a batsman part time spinner that article suggests he is both & more importantly is he any good

As for the Australian team I think it will be Webster he is a batsman who bowls rather than the other way rounf

He is an OK county cricket spinner, be interesting to see how he fairs.

Webster played for Essex and was useless, I am shocked at his rise

Jacks is a very good white ball player so fits in well with the other players who seem to think a test should be finished in 2-3 days

True, but spinning on dirt is easier than spinning on grass.

So is spinning with a spongy ball.

Oh mate, I don't rate the lad, so totally agree, he certainly isn't there for his bowling based on efforts this year, then again neither was Bashir and he couldn't bat either. Strange old selections given Rehan had an absolutely bumper year with both

England only change jacks for wood

No Lyon gone for an all out speed attack Neser replaces him. Inglis in for Usman decided to go with a batsman instead of an all rounder in Webster

England to bat first

England 2/ 98 at lunch let's hope they come out after lunch & play sensible cricket.
The Ashes always ebbs and flows so I'm expecting Aussies to come out and get at least a couple of wickets. But as long as we don't do stupid things we should get an acceptable total at the very least.

Well done Crawley for answering back with a 60 not out....

Brook started off like a total bell end and seems to have calmed down a bit now
You can be aggressive, just need to be sensible with it

TMS just said any team scoring over 260 in the 1st innings here hasn't lost in day/night cricket

And continued that way. Swiping at balls that weren't there to be swiped at.

Lucky he wasn't out two overs ago swinging at the high ones.
