Pushing Up The Daisies

John Robb talks about both Mani and Bonehead, saying they are like your best mate, whose accidentally ended up in the best band in the world. Not that they aren't great musicians who didn't work on their talent and deserve to be there. Rather that they are one of us, one of the best of us, rather than one of them (the usual people who succeed).
John Robb's like that prick who hung around all the good places to go in Manchester and London, who nobody wanted to talk to.

Who just happened to write a couple of books nobody wants to read.

No, he's a really good guy. A Don Letts of the 80s and 90s.

His Stone Roses book is the best there is about them, and his Oasis one is up there in the top two with the Paulo Hewitt. He also set up and runs Louder Than War, which is the only half decent music website left (Drowned In Sound and This Is Fake DIY now sadly gone).

I've never particularly listened to the Membranes, but this track he did with the guy from Exit Calm is decent

I know who he is, he's a hanger on and everyone used to laugh at him behind his back in the 90s
