Racism in football

I can understand how some people (particularly of my age) feel concerned with immigration, I travelled on underground in London yesterday for the first time since we played at Wembley and was surprised there were so few white people using the system, more alarming to me was the number of robots chained to their mobile friend.
The vast majority of immigrants are decent hardworking people try to build a better life for their families or escaping persecution as I'm sure many of our ancestors were. They're judged by the high profile given by the criminal elements in their fold by the media.

Nice post.

How would you feel if our country went down a similar path to many other countries in the world and used a national database including a face capture? Then the government could partner with the retail, hospitality, transport and other industries to continuously validate people against an official source of truth using facial recognition. So when you were on the Underground yesterday all those people around you would be constantly having their legitimacy to be in the country validated and give you that sense of comfort. Obviously, so would the good old anglo saxons who have lived here generationally for a very long time.

The challenge I have with the media is that they want to paint immigration as bad but they would also paint these types of technologies as even worse. You can't win with them as good doesn't make news. Only "bad" does. They would just paint us out of be "China" if we went down a similar path. In reality we don't even need a national database as interoperability already exists with national databases like passport and driving license anyway. We already have security cameras everywhere. There is nothing even far fetched about taking it through a gear or two.

Obviously, I may have to be a bit more careful which bushes I have a pee in on the walk home from the pub

I wouldn't worry as the technology would be malfunctioning or not be of the standard you see in "Mission Imposdible" and other films of that type. An authoritarian government will do what it wants without any technology.

I don't think I wrote or inferred I was uncomfortable with the situation, in my formative years in 50/60's I lived between the West End to Hampstead and mixed we people of different races and cultures and was use to living in multicultural areas.

I think if you disagree with someones views you should try to understand it and them, the world and this country has changed so much since my youth and many of my generation find it difficult to accept. I dislike the way technology has taken over our lives and misused to the detriment of people more than immigration but then I'm from immigrant European stock.

Only 23% of legal immigrants work and put into society, don't kid yourself

London is weird
It’s not representative of the rest of the UK and is IMO a self governing bubble
I work in property and corporate real estate. We never ever work with a UK owned company with any footprint in London that isn’t owned by an overseas entity
The reason it stands out more on a tube train is that you get that closed proximity and also ever level of income uses it

So if you are not white you are an immigrant?

In London most of us are from immigrant ancestors. I'm not saying the there is anything wrong with the numbers I saw but commenting on how surprising it was to me and can understand how some people might feel threatened by such changes in society, it may not be palatable or correct attitude but it's there and to dismiss it foolish. It appears to be immigration is a major issue in many countries in Europe and leading to a rise in right wing political parties getting a stronger foothold in government which will be terrible for everyone.

I did not say anything about fears being legitimate or not. My point is that skin colour should not be an indicator of immigration levels. I am brown and am not an immigrant. seeing non white people and linking that immigration is saying they are less British in my view.

I'm afraid the colour of people's skin will be lead to that assumption for the foreseeable future, things could get worse with the nationalist movement.

It's a natural reaction to feel fear in unfamiliar places surrounded by people different from you that you don't know.
There's nothing wrong with it.
There's no difference between a spurs supporter walking into a pub full of arsenal supporters and feeling uneasy than being on a street where you're the only one of a difference race.
The difficult bit is convincing yourself that just because you/they are different in some ways you actually have a lot more in common and the vast majority of the time you have nothing to fear.
Most people are good, if thoughtless, people.
Yes the scuzzball idiots grab the headlines, but those are the minority.

I find fear an odd one, although I don't wholly disagree I would prefer to think of it as the unknown rather than fear, because unlike walking into a pub full of Arsenal fans fear of others that look different seems slightly irrational to me.

People need to be taken at face value till they prove differently, far too many hold a prejudiced view before they have even started unfortunately

We can all agree Arsenal fans are cnuts

Those figures are for working age men and don't include their dependants. Example, an engineer from umbawomba land comes to live here, but he brings his three wives and eight children. All of which use our facilities and infrastructure. In the 14 years of Tory rule legal immigration had a net cost of £112b, which are the OBR figures. Immigration offers an initial burst to the GDP, but the GDP is lower per person. Mass immigration has not only destroyed the country financially, it's ruined the culture and damaged our identity. Multiculturalism is a failed experiment that has destroyed many of our towns and cities. Fortunately we will have a government prepared to take this on in the next few years, but the best we can hope for is a slow down in the erosion of our country.

You only have to look at those fowl antisemitic individuals protesting on the streets every week to see what's happening. What makes it worse is a large percentage of them are indigenous people who have been brainwashed by our lefty education system. Never mind, I'm sure there are people on this site who think it's brilliant and would happily open the doors wide to anyone who wants to come and live here. The only light at the end of the tunnel is the majority agree with me

Troll or not, you are a nasty piece of work.

And you haven't answered my question of where you get the figure that only 23% of legal migrants work and put into society.

Two questions.

1. Where, exactly, is this place bold-faced above?
2. Do you have any sources to support anything you've said?

You don't need any written proof to see the detrimental effect mas immigration has had in our towns and cities. Spend some time yourself and look up the figures, but common sense will do that for you. Any person has to earn a minimum of £61k a year to be a net contributor, and I'm pretty damn sure the average immigrant doesn't get close to that. The additional tax revenue from immigration doesn't get close to paying for the infrastructure to support them. This isn't just the UK, it's all the civilized countries within Europe. Ask yourself, if all immigrants weren't entitled to benefits. the use of the NHS, or the education system for five years, how many do you think would want to live here?

The argument the left will give us is we need them for work purposes, in which case I would be happy to give work visas where necessary. We have endless amounts of unskilled unemployed people sat on the backsides claiming benefits, whilst be are being told that we need unskilled foreign workers to do the jobs the Britts won't. The entire system needs turning on it's head, but nothing will change while a minority of nutters singing the praises of mass immigration are listened to (The Greens and the Lib Dems primarily)
